matrix switcher to manage and present video in a clear and concise
manner. IT IS NOT RECORDER.
With integrated IP engine MAXPRO NVR provides a scalable and
powerful COTS NVR type of video management solution

Provides transition path from analog video world into digital and
leverages an end users existing video infrastructure
- Multiple subsystems, single feature rich user interface
- Integrate and manage existing video
infrastructures such as:
Rapid Eye, Fusion, Enterprise, Maxpro
and VideoBlox Matrix switcher
3rd party interface soon to come

Excellent Innovation Award
- Honeywell ACS wide award for innovative
products
4

Present version of Maxpro VMS is R300 SP2.

The MAXPRO VMS server collects information from the video subsystems, manages
information in its SQL 2008 database and keeps track of the configuration to present
information to the rich MAXPRO VMS clients.

MAXPRO VMS can connect as many NVR and DVR units as needed for up to 10000
video channels per server. Just mix and match as the business drivers and customer
requirements dictate.

MAXPRO VMS integrates to the proven Pro-Watch security management system
and provides complete control of user provisioning, physical monitors, salvos, and
video panels based upon alarm/event actions from Pro-Watch.

22
MaxproVMS IPEngine Servers
IP Engine DB Server
Stores the configuration & runtime information of the IPEngine system
Manages clip database
Distributed Video Architecture
Database Server contains the:
DVM SQL Server database
Audit log
Web server and Web services
IP Engine Camera Server
Camera Server may be installed on IPEngine DB Server (only suitable for small
systems) or a separate PC
Multiple Camera Servers, each on a separate machine, may exist within a single
IPEngine server
Camera Server is capable of:
Requesting and receiving live video and audio from streamers
Transmitting live video and previously recorded video to clients.
Receiving camera control commands from clients and sending the commands to the
streamers (and cameras)
Storing video for cameras.
Archiving video recordings to disk.

23
Video Motion Detection (VMD)
Continuous or scheduled motion detection

Automatically activate any of the following actions when motion occurs
- Generate an alarm in Pro-Watch (configurable priority), if integrated.
- Start a recording on the camera (optionally with pre-record)
- Automatically switch the camera being viewed on a Video Client or Alarm Monitor.

Record until motion has finished or for a configurable time period
- Configuration provided for the duration of inactivity needed for motion to be finished

Automatic tuning of algorithm
- variable sensitivity level
- optimisation for single or multi direction

Select the regions of interest - individual tuning settings for each region

Tuning display allows for administrators to view the camera and tune the
algorithm
24
Intelligent Recording

Video recordings can be initiated by:
- Schedules (record at certain times during the day)
- Pro-Watch alarms and events
- Operator initiated (using the Live Video record button)
- VMD Event (movement in selected regions of the camera view)
- Use a combination of Operator, Scheduled, Alarm/Event, Video Motion
Detection
- Continuous background recording may not be needed
Record what happened BEFORE the event or record button was
pressed
- It keeps a buffer of video which can be stored away when needed
- Record what happened before the event, not just what happened after

IP Engine recording parameters are per recording type and per camera
basis
- Individual configuration of camera recording behavior for each recording
type, each alarm/event, and pre-recording. All on the one camera
- Have a different frame rate for live view, scheduled recording, video motion
detected recording, operator activated recording and alarm/event activated
recording on a single camera
- Scalable frame rates from 1 frame every 10 seconds to 30 frames/sec

25
State-of-the-Art Video Storage
Automatic default recording deletion date
- Configured for each type of recording for each camera
- Can be overwritten for each recording or for all recordings
- Reduces the problem of redundant or irrelevant recordings

Recordings can be kept on-line forever, exported, deleted or archived

Information about archived recordings remain within the DVM database for
inclusion in searches

IP engine moves all archived recordings from the on-line recordings directory to
an archive directory
- Any Windows 2000 onward compatible archiving software is used to perform the
archiving
- For restoring a recording, the archiving software is used to restore the recording into the
archived directory

Archived recordings appear in a different color in the recordings or search
results display
- provides indication that the recording needs to be restored before viewing

Removable hard drives provides an increasingly cost effective method for
storage of archived recordings

26
MaxproVMS IPEngine Servers
IP Engine DB Server Redundancy
Redundancy allows backup server to automatically continue the role of the
preferred server in the event of a h/w or s/w failure on the preferred server
Backup DB server constantly synchronizes with the preferred server
Once recovered preferred DB server takes over and auto synchronizes with
backup server

User Management & System Segregation
- User Roles:
Roles comprise a set of privileges. User can be associated to a role,
the privileges that are available for the role are also assigned to the
user.
- Partitions:
A partition is a logical grouping of video devices within a site.
Partitions are associated to users. Users can view and manage the
video devices that are grouped inside the associated partitions.
- Sites:
A site refers to a location of cameras, recorders, and other hardware
devices that enables operator to monitor the activities in an area.
Setting up a site involves adding and configuring the hardware
devices, defining the users, partitions, and event groups.
