This course will focus on general topics in the
humanities of China. Student will develop
Chinese language skills and intercultural
competency; including basic introductions to
the history, religions, and philosophy of China;
familiarity with sites important to Chinese
history and humanities; and Chinese education,
family life, dating, and sexuality.
HUM 2410 Asian Humanities
Courses:
Summer Palace
Focuses on international trade policies (including basic trade
models), globalization and the implications of increasing
interdependence of global markets, tariffs and quotas, the
impacts of legal, linguistic, social, and currency differences
encountered when commerce extends beyond national
borders.

Explores specific management and
business topics, such as financial markets,
international trade, human resources,
cultural issues, and economics, as they
relate to Chinese businesses, will be
adressed.

Courses:
The study of political systems other than
those in the U.S. The class will focus the
Western political science concept of
Authoritarian regime and the
appropriateness of its use to describe
the Chinese government.

that is based on the study abroad
component of those courses.

Prof. David Price
Prof. David Price holds a M.A. in Political Science with a
concentration in International Relations and a Ph.D. in
History. He has led study abroad trips to China in 2005,
2010, and 2012. He has also been a visiting faculty member
at Beijing Union University.
Prof. Jake Searcy
Prof. Searcy holds a Ph.D. in Food and Resource
Economics with a focus in International
Trade. At Santa Fe College in 2009, including
courses in Microeconomics, International
Economics, and managerial Economics in a
Global Economy. He visited Beijing in March
where he interacted with many BUU students
and faculty members.
