Sermon 5: THE APOSTOLIC GRACE

OF SONSHIP
He predestined us to be adopted
as His sons through Jesus Christ,
in accordance with His pleasure
and will to the praise of His
glorious grace, which He has
freely given us in the One He
loves. (EPHESIANS 1:5-6)
For those God foreknew He also
predestined to be conformed to
the likeness of His Son, that He
might be the firstborn among
many brothers. (ROMANS :29)
THE SPIRIT OF SONSHIP IS AN
APOSTOLIC GRACE.
The secret of the early Church
was apostolic grace.
> Acts 4:33 > Acts 11:21-26
CALLED BY HIS GRACE
> Galatians 1:15
Paul became an apostle by
the Grace of God.
1 Corinthians 3:10
1 Corinthians 15:10
WHAT IS GRACE?
GRACE IS GODS LIFE, POWER
AND RIGHTEOUSNESS COMING
TO US.
The greater purpose of the
Grace of God is SONSHIP.
Sonship and our conformity to
this pattern is what Christian
life is all about in its entirety.
(HEBREWS 2:10)
Everything that Jesus did, He
did as a son to a father. This is
crucial because this is the life
and lifestyle to which we are
to be conformed.
The Parable of the Prodigal Son
If we are to walk in the riches
of our inheritance, we will have
to live, think and believe as
sons.
Sonship is the Only Key to
Maturity in Faith.
> Ephesians 4:13
There can be no spiritual
maturity without relational
maturity.
The Goal of Maturity : The Whole
Measure of the Fullness of Christ.
The only way to attain this is
through the apostolic grace.
God is restoring APOSTOLIC
CHRISTIANITY.
Apostolic Church is composed
of apostolic people walking in
apostolic grace and imparting
apostolic life.
In order to restore Apostolic
Christianity, God has to restore
the five-fold ministry by His
Grace. This is the tool for us
to attain sonship.
Q1: WHAT MADE US A JOINT
HEIR WITH CHRIST?
Q2: JESUS IS THE FIRSTBORN.
HOW COME WE ARE ALSO
CALLED AS FIRSTBORN?

Q3: WHY DID GOD CHANGED
OUR STATUS FROM AN
ADOPTED SON INTO
TRUE SONS AND GIVEN
US THE FULL RIGHTS AS
SONS? (Galatians 4:5 NIV)
Q4: WHY IS CHRIST NOT
ASHAMED TO CALL US
HIS BROTHERS?
(Heb.2:11)
The answer is in JOHN 17:22-26 :
1. The same glory with Jesus.
2. The same oneness / communion
with Jesus.
3. The same love of the Father
with the same degree.
God is extending His Grace to
all but it is up to us the receive
it and to continue in it.
Sonship is determined by our
decision to be a son. We can also
choose to be a servant or even
as an orphan.
