Main Components of Pega 7

Header: give global access to the application by way of
landing pages, wizards, and tools.Here we create cases,
search for records, launch secondary portals.
Launch Portal menu: allows to open another
portal such as Case Manager 7 or other Custom
Portal.
Create Case Menu: is used to run the flows that
create new instance of the work.
Search Control: Provides full-text search against r
ules,data objects and content.
Recent Items: allows us to view the content of the
Recent Explorer.
Help Menu: gives you access to PRPC Help System.
operator Menu: used to review your profile, set
preferences and logoff.
Explorer Panel: allowing simple navigation between operators, application and
system level records.
1. Recent Explorer: allows to easily view ,open and search the last 30
items opened in the work area.
Check out items are denoted with checkmark icon
2. Case Explorer: help to review and update the applications case
hirerachy. Case Explorer uses a tree Structure.
3. Data Explorer: simplifies the creation and modification of Data Objects
types and their associated data pages.
Prior to Pega 7 data pages were called Declare pages.
Inheritance view has been updated in pega 7.
4. Application Explorer: provides hirerachical view of the rules in the
application stack
5. Record Explorer: gives us flat view of all the rules and data instances. It is
used to find a rule of specific type.
Record Explorer was called Rules Explorer prior to Pega 7.
6. Private Explorer: Displays all the rules that are currently checked out by
operator
7. Favourite Explorer: used to view ,edit and open the favourite rules.
This further organized into 2 categories:
A. Access Group Favourtie
B. Personal Favourtie)

Developer Toolbar:provides quick access to tools
that assist in debugging an application, analyzing
performance and understand how an application
is built.
It is located in footer and contains tools like
clipboard, tracer, myalerts and PAL
UI Inspector: in pega 7 allows developer and
designer to easily review the structure of the
application in the context of UI rules and
elements.
Declerative and field value inspector are still
available and can be enable with Inspection
Preference Menu
Work Area: is largest component and
displays the records, report and wizard or
landing pages that are currently in focus.
Forms: are easier to configure elements
needed to meet design requirements.

Data Management
Prior to Pega 7 Accessing data was procedural. Developer
need to take care of everything like Data Defination and
loading of data,Refreshing and stored on clipboard. So
everytime we need to check Clipboard to check the Data
Values. Developer need to understand where the data
came from and how to retrive it. And also need to look how
to reference the data in each rule.
In Pega 7 Concept of Data Pages makes Data Access
Declerative which means system wil take care when data
need to be loaded. Data Pages includes existing features
and enhance features like property reference.
Data Pages are the next evolution of Declerative pages.
Data Pages can also be accessed as embeded pages
