This project is entitle:
Spectacle of Metazoa.
This project is designed for high school
level specifically grade 8. (Second year)
The content area of this project is Science
Topic area: Biology

Lesson objectives

At the end of the term, the students should be able to
A. Identify the different farm animals from the observation
and distinguish how these animals differ from one
another.
B. Appreciate and value the relevance of animals and its
importance to eco system and to our daily living.
C. Produce a creative artwork or output of the presented
sample project.

Materials/logistics

Questionnaires, observation sheets, research
materials such as books, articles, etc. for variety
of resources of information, computer, art
materials, documentation, camera, etc...

Time required -Students are given 4 weeks to plan and
prepare all the necessary things that has to be settled
regarding their project.
Group size -For this project, the whole class will be divided
into 4 groups which consists of 12-13 members each. One
student is assigned as the LEADER and the remaining as the
supporting members of each designated group.

Procedures and
directions

FIELD OBSERVATION
During the field observation, the
students are provided
questionnaires for them to answer
and submit back to the teacher
within the day of observations. For
the succeeding days after the field
observation, the student are now
to proceed to research works.

RESEARCH WORKS
The students has to research on the
possible things that they are to include in
their groups exhibit. They are to research
information through articles, magazines,
books, and online references. They can
research on life spans, classification of the
animals, food webs, food chain, life cycle,
and other information that they plan to
include in their work.

LAYOUT
Next task is to, create a draft of
what is to be produced on the
exhibit which is to be submitted
to the teacher. The materials to
be used will depend on the
groups decision and concept on
how to present their work.

PRESENTATION OF
EXHIBIT

On the last step, each groups
will create their own concept of
animal farm exhibit on the
assigned open space and
present it to the panel of science
teachers.

Assessment and
evaluation

The groups exhibit will be graded based on the
given criteria.
Content 30%
Creativity 25%
Organization 15%
Over-all presentation 25%
Peoples Choice 5%
TOTAL: 100%

Seven key dimension

core curriculum
real world connection
extended time frame
Student decision making
Collaboration
Assessment
multimedia

CORE CURRICULUM

The final project that is being
required by the teacher will be
based on the given curriculum
made by the DEPed. The subject
teacher may plan to collaborate
with other subject teacher so that
there will be other subjects or
discipline integration.
REAL WORLD CONNECTION

With this project, the students has the chance to have an
actual encounter with farm animals or domestic animals.
With that experience, the students would be able to
realize how important these animals to our ecosystem
and to human living.
They will also have an idea on how these animals are
treated, for example how to feed them, wash them and
also how to take good care of these animals. Therefore
the knowledge and skills that they acquired and
developed, they can apply it in real life or in their daily
living

EXTENDED TIME FRAME

The students are given enough time
to create and polish their work.
One month is given for them to
conceptualize the exhibit that they
wish to present on the presentation
date.

STUDENT DECISION MAKING

With the decision making, each group
are to independently decide what
output to produce, what information
they think are relevant to the exhibit,
materials to be used. The students can
decide when to start the project, how
fast they progress will be, etc. As long as
they finish the exhibit on the given
deadline of presentation.

COLLABORATION

The team are to work together from start until
the end of the project. Each member has to
contribute to the success of the exhibit. The
leader has to assign tasks to his/her members in
order for them to progress in their works. They
must have follow-up report with the teacher so
that they are somehow guided. In addition, the
students will be able to experience how to deal
with their diverse co-members within the group
they belong to.

ASSESSMENT

The teacher will check the students
work from time to time so that the
group can consult their ideas and
concerns regarding their work. With
that, several feedbacks are given by
the teacher for the students to
improve their output.

MULTIMEDIA

Each group has to document their projects progress. They
are to submit a documentation after the day of the
presentation of projects. They must document the field
observation, the preparation of exhibit, the actual
presentation of the exhibit (pictures, data, etc.)
In addition, they must also produce at least 5-7 minutes
video of the exhibit. They can present short videos that
are relevant to their work for the judges to understand
what they are trying to imply. The students can make
use of the different applications to present the video (such
as Movie Maker, iMovie, Adobe etc...)
