What is the Environmental Management System?

Definition:
The part of the overall management system that includes
organizational structure, planning activities, responsibilities,
practices, procedures, processes and resources for developing
implementing, achieving, reviewing and maintaining the
environmental policy.
Instrument for:
Identification of environmental and human health impacts
Controlling environmental and human health impacts
7
Efficient control of the environmental problems
Reducing pollution risks
Posibile economies (increasing raw material consumptions
and waste recycling)
Prompt reaction in case of accidents or non-conformities
Increasing employees motivations
Improving relations with authorities, population and other
interest parties
Facilitate environmental approvals

What do we intend to do?
Proposed environmental programs:
Establishing the real indirect material consumptions
Identifying financial solutions for money recovering form cardboard and plastic
recycling
Vigon recycling
Purifying used water from spare parts cleaning
Identifying solutions for eliminate used chemicals
Improving sewerage station
Organize our own laboratory for used water parameters
Identifying solutions for recycling: PET, glass, batteries and lights
(fluorescent and incandescent)

17
QA/EHS
Create, implement and monitor the EMS
Manufacturing: respect the instructions referring to waste management
and chemicals
Enginering:
Identify solutions for reducing raw materials consumption and for
reducing waste
Analize the possibilities for eliminating aggressive solvents
(isopropyl alcohol)
Analize the possibilities for introducing lead free technologies
Consult EHS when introductions new processes and chemicals
