I have officially left Gerindra: Ahok

Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Ahok Tjahaja Purnama said
Wednesday that he had officially resigned from the Gerindra
Party, which nominated him for the citys gubernatorial race in
2012.
I have officially resigned from Gerindra. Since I submitted this
[resignation] letter, I am not a member of a political party
anymore, he said at City Hall, as quoted by kompas.com.
Ahok, who was the head of Gerindras executive board (DPP)
overseeing politics, said that he had decided to resign because
he disagreed with the move of the Red-and-White coalition led
by Gerindra chairman and losing presidential candidate Prabowo
Subianto, which wanted to eliminate direct elections for regional
heads.
"I think that Gerindras principals are no longer in line with my
battle to give the people the right to choose their leaders, he
said.

US LAUNCHES AIRSTRIKES ON
MILITANT POSITIONS IN IRAQ
Kuwait City (ANTARA News/ITAR-TASS-OANA) - The
U.S. Air Force launched airstrikes on the Islamic State
positions near Iraqs second largest dam on Sunday,
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.
At the request of the Iraqi government, U.S. forces
conducted co-ordinated airstrikes on the Islamic State
positions near the Haditha dam in Anbar province (in
the west of the country), Iraqi media quote Kirby. He
added it was a preventive strike on the extremists to
thwart their attempt to damage the strategic hydrotechnical facility.

Indonesia wins four titles in Vietnam`s

badminton GP Open
Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA News) - Indonesia won
four titles Badminton Championships Yonex Sunrise
Vietnam GP Open 2014 ended on Sunday.

mixed double, womens double and mens double vents.
