Teaching Objectives:

The statement is the


expression of the following
belief:
Muhammad
was sent as a Messenger by
Allah.
He reported the truth.
We obey his commands and
abstain from whatever he
prohibited.
We worship Allah in the
manner he prescribed.

Muhammadur Rasulullah
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah

Responsibilities of the Prophets :


Abul Hasan Ali An-Nadwi described the
following responsibilities of the Prophets :

The first concern of every Prophet in every


age and environment was to correct the
belief of people regarding Allah Azza wa Jal.
To correct the relationship between the
servant and his Lord.
To call to dedication of religion purely to
Allah.
To single out Allah as the only one for
worship.

To believe that Allah is the only one who


can harm or benefit us.
He is the only one who has the right to be
worshipped, supplicated and resorted to.
In His Name alone animals are sacrificed.
Campaign against the paganism of their
eras.

.Responsibilities of the Prophets

The worship of idols in human or animal


form.
The worship of living and dead humans
as saints.

Examples of idol worship:

Say I possess no power of


benefit and harm to myself
except as Allah wills If I had the
knowledge of the Ghaib
(unseen), I should have secured
for myself an abundance of
wealth, and no evil should have
touched me. I am but a Warner
and a bringer of glad tidings
unto people who believe.

Allah says to His Messenger in


Surah Al Aarraf: 188

The Qualities of the Prophet.

The Prophet said:


Do not exaggerate in praising me as the
Christians did to the son of Mary, for I am
only a servant, so say the servant of Allah
and His Messenger.
(Al Bukhari)
The Prophet should be praised like he is
praised in the Quran and Sunnah.
True love for the Prophet is expressed
through obedience.
Believers do not supplicate to the prophets or
saints.

Expression of Love for the Prophet

When you ask, ask Allah,


and when you seek help,
seek the help of Allah
(Al Tirmidhi)
When he was in grief or
worried about something, the
Prophet used to say:
O Everliving and Everlasting,
in your Mercy I seek help

The Prophet
said:

The Prophet should be praised like he is


praised in the Quran and Sunnah.
True love for the Prophet is expressed
through obedience.
When we love the Prophet, we love the call to
tawhid.
We love those who call people to tawhid.
We hate shirk.
We hate those who call people to shirk.
Believers do not supplicate to the prophets or
saints.

For The Prophet.

Can the people who believe in Allah but


do not believe in Prophet Muhammad
as the last Prophet of Allah
be termed as believers?
