ACT 1.

The trailer begins with an extreme close up of the main

character eye, this makes it seems as though something familiar
is unfamiliar due to the use in uncanny camera shot. The fact
that the main character looks directly into the camera
communicates a sense of helplessness and desperation.
Shallow focus is used here so the viewer has direct contact the
main character, making it seem very uncomfortable, which
allows the audience to perceive what genre this film belongs
to.
During this shot there is a monologue, of her whispering, this
communicates a sense of secrecy, she describes how she has
lost her memory and that she's scared, the viewer questions
why is she scared, is she in danger?, this is where the audience
gets an introduction of the main character. As you can see of
the imagery there is an eye line match, she looks extremely
confused.
This then follows to a fragmented flashback of what she
could remember, the fact that it is fragmented is also in link
with the fact she has memory loss and her confusion, this
gives a feeling of disorientation.

The next part of the trailer is communicated through the shift in

location; this is shown through a low angle pan shot to highlight
her confusion, the fact that the duration of the shot is extremely
quick suggests a rapid decline in the character memory, she
doesnt know where she is.
Concurrent to the pan shot a sound bridge is used which then
follows to the second character introduction, ben. Ben
introduces himself to us the audience and Christine the main
character. Although ben in presented as the husband the
camera is slightly shaky this coveys that not all is quite right,
portraying a common theme within this text which is deceit and
secrecy.
This follows to the same copied sequence of Christine's
flashbacks, for example the corridor. This highlights aspects of
her memory she can recall, this memory is the events of the
night she had lost her memory, it seems as though its all a blur.
These specific images that she can recall have some significant
and relevance to them. She cant seem to work it out.

This follows to a sound bridge of the phone ring, this is where the
third character ( Dr Nash) is introduced however we dont get
to visually see him, we can only hear his voice, this strengthens
the sense of the unknown and makes is ominous. this follows to
a static image montage which is also concurrent with Dr Nash
voice. The sudden fade to black the expresses the lacuna
theme to the trailer, the fact that the trailer is not in a fixed order
and many flash back occur making it seem disorientation makes
the audience relate to how Christine is feeling, they get an
insight on how confused she is.

After this occurs time then speeds up which symbolises that

time is running out and that danger is increasing, this again
follows to quick montage of pictures full or memories, this is
something that she still cannot recall, this again highlights her
confusion as she has no recollection what was so significant
about the events shown to her.

ACT 2.

The audience are aware that Christine is desperate to regain

her memory and know exactly what happens to her, even
though she cant remember thing and finds it hard to recall
aspects her daily routine is to keep a video diary of what has
happened In the day. This makes to plot thicken is it will help
her to recall significant things that happen to her the day
before. The audience feel that Christine is isolated and is
unable to trust anyone.
This follows to a fade to black and crescendo after it is
revealed that no one knows who attacked he. It feels as
though all hope is lost as she has no recollection of the
events of that night. Christine has a huge amount of pressure
as she feels as though she has to remember

A critical accolade is shown to suggest that the storyline is

brilliant and is a must see in the cinema. At this point the music
also picks up as the shots also seem to get faster; the plot is
thickening

During this clip the audience are able to see that Christine
confusion has taken its toll on her, she feels so isolated and
alone, she cant trust anyone. While this occurs we hear a
dialogue saying how can I trust you? this shows how
desperate she is to find out the trust. The shots become a lot
quicker after this, there is a voice over of different dialogue
of Christine herself, Dr Nash and her husband Ben, this
highlights her confusion, it almost seems as though we are in
Christine's mind.
We are then introduced to the fourth character. The
audience are shocked to found out that Claire
disappeared, the audience question why did she had
to disappear? This gives a huge sense of the unknown,
does she know something that Christine doesnt ? Was
she apart of the attack?. This what makes a successful
trailer, the audience are left questioning what is going,
the plot isnt revealed. This is something that I will defiantly
want to use in my end product.

ACT 3.

Christine feels so isolated and alone, she expresses how

she can trust no one which creates another shift in the
narrative. There is also a shift in the music, it seem much
more alarming due to the fact that it is off key. This
makes the audience feel uneasy.
Staccato music is used to make the scene seem
disjointed, this makes it seem as though there is
desperation within the narrative as time is running out,
building the tension and suspense is then followed to
fade to black.

At this point the audience are placed in the same

place as the amnesiac, this is communicated by the
overlapping sounds of the husband ben, Dr Nash, this
communicates that they was unable to trust anyone, it
a way it allows us to see in the mind of the amnesiac.

The name of the actors and there image appears in sink with the
diegetic music, there was a beat for name and image .

The last scene follows to a montage of once again her memory, however this time
she is able to recall much more, this suggests that in the film she does eventually
some how put the pieces together and can recall some of her memory. However
the fact that the last image is of her eye again, suggest that she woke up and this all
may have been forgotten, this is effective as the audience is left on the edge of
there seat , questioning what really happened?
