I asked the question Are you male or
female so I could determine the type of
target audience indie magazines are aimed
at.
My results proved that mostly females are
interested in indie magazines due to the fact
that only 8 Males and 22 females said that
they read them.
This will impact me with my planning
because I will have to take into account that
my magazine will mainly be focused on more
female then male. How I will do this is by
choosing colours that will suit the female
gender more than the male gender.

How old are you?
I asked the question How old are you? in
my questionnaire so that I could find out
the main age group that my target
audience would be aimed at.
My results showed me that the most
popular age group that will be interested in
reading my magazine is 16 18. The
group that would be the least interested is
25+. The group 18-20 is the second most
popular and the third was 22 -24. overall
my results showed me that the younger
audience would be interested more.
This will impact my magazine because I
will then know what types of bands to
include to my magazine to suit certain age

magazines?
I asked the question how often do you buy
music magazines? so that I would know the
best time to schedule my magazines release
them.
My results showed me that the most popular
time to release my magazine would be every
two weeks my results showed me that 9 out of
30 people chose two weeks, 1 out of 30 chose
a week, 8 out of 30 chose monthly, 6 out of 30
chose yearly.
This will affect my magazine because then I will
be able to know how often to release my
magazine.

I asked the question who is your favourite band so

that I would know the most popular band to add into
my magazine.
My results showed me that the most popular bands to
include into my magazine are
- Arctic monkeys
- The Kooks
- Kasabian
- Foo Fighters
- The Courteeners
All of these bands had over 5 people saying that
these were their favourite.
By knowing this is I will able to add these bands into
my magazine so I know that people will be interested
in them.

I asked
the questions what colours do you associate
with indie music magazines so that I would know the
correct colours to include to my magazine.
My results show me that the most popular colours to
include in my magazine are:

-Yellow
-Green
-Red
And black
All these colours have been chosen more than five
times.
This will affect my magazine because I will now be
able to know what colours to include into my magazine
that will entice the correct target audience.

distribute my magazine would be in the
supermarkets (e.g. Tesco and Asda)
The least popular place to distribute my
magazine was online, only 8 people chose
this choice out of 30.

Magazine?
I asked the question what three questions do you
associate with an indie music magazine? so that I was
able to know what relatable words would be good to
include.
My results showed me that the most popular words that is
related with Indie is Northern, Loud, Indie and cool.

Now that I know this I know that I will include all four of
these works into my magazine or even on my front cover
page. By doing this I will entice a certain target audience
and also the audience will know that it is indie based.

How much do you normally spend on music
magazines?
I asked the question how much do you normally
spend on a music magazine?. I did this so I know
the correct amount to charge people.
My results show me that the most popular price to
charge for a Bi-weekly magazine would be
between 1- 3 over half chose this and the least
popular is below 1 less than a quarter chose this.

My results now show me that the price I will pick

to charge for my magazine will be between 1-3.
I know now that this price is more than suitable.

What incentives do you look for when buying a magazine?
I have asked the question what incentives do you
look for when buying a magazine. I said this so
that I knew what would be the best thing to include
into my magazine.
My results showed me that the best things to
include into my magazines are Free Gifts and Free
tickets. 13 people said they would prefer free
tickets and 10 people said free gifts.
Now that I know this I know that including chances
to win free gifts/tickets will entice more audiences
to buy my magazines.

I asked the question what appeals to you most
when buying a music magazine so that I know
what to definitely add to my magazine when I
come to make it.

My results have showed me that the thing most

appealing to the audience is the feature content,
main image and the price and the thing that is
least appealing to people is the regular content
and the masthead.
Now that I know this information I know the most
important things to include into my magazine.
