Key duties/responsibilities for quality technician


1.

Proper and proficient operation of all test and inspection equipment required to
perform testing of all applicable products.
2. Proper and proficient execution of all applicable test procedures and test protocols
(including but not limited to ASTM/PSTC test methods).
3. Collect and report valid and consistent test results/data with minimal variability.
4. Maintain and oversee organization, storage, and correct product flow in lab,
product temporary storage areas (such as QA Corral)
5. Maintain proper inventory of lab supplies and timely calibration of lab equipment.
6. Daily inspections, testing and analysis of product (new, existing and competitive
testing of both raw materials and finished goods) and processes.
7. Develop, prepare, and write test reports (including summarization of drawn
conclusions) to be generated to larger audiences.
8. Perform and assist in the evaluation of existing products along with products in
various stages of product development.
9. Ensure all test equipment including gauges and instruments are properly
maintained, calibrated and fully functional.
10. Manage external equipment calibrations (such as Stratix verifiers, etc.)

Key job qualifications for quality technician


1.

Understand, develop and apply corrective and preventive actions, including root
analysis, failure mode and effects analysis and control of nonconforming material.
2. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, including
geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
3. Knowledge of basic electrical principles.
4. Ability to use statistical sampling plans as required by MIL-STD-105D, etc.
5. Assist, as needed, in Receiving Inspection and movement of parts weighing up to
35 lbs.
6. Heavy lifting possible with certain products and in certain functional areas with
assistive equipment.
7. Ability to pass math skills test: conversions from English standard to Metric, and
decimals to fractions (part specs, etc).
8. Knowledge of lean tools and Quality techniques (Kiazen, 5S, PDCA, SPC, etc)
9. Technicians must have the ability to apply quality tools and techniques; ability to
interpret information and data; ability to apply team concepts as both a member and
a leader.
10. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to
the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicant must be U.S.
persons within the meaning of ITAR requirements.
