Objective
To increase participants awareness and knowledge of
industries in which they hope / target to be placed
To improve through each others feedback
To learn from each others research and experience
Groups will compile a report on one industry and

present the same to the class


The presentations (PPT) and the detailed reports will
be uploaded on to the dataserver for all to access
No Grades Pass/ Fail to be part of the grade sheet

ISI Emerging MarketsIndia: Analyst reports, News magazine stories,
Press releases

Prowess (CMIE): It contains detailed information on over 9,300 Indian


firms. These comprise all companies traded on India's major stock
exchanges and several others, including central public sector enterprises.
Capitaline: It covers 7000 listed and unlisted companies in India, giving
extensive financial and non-financial information. It covers Background
Data, 10 year Profit & Loss Accounts & Balance Sheets, Key Financial
Ratios and News Extracts etc.

Industry Databases
CapEx (CMIE): It is a database on new and ongoing investment

activities in India. CapEx provides a large number of well-designed


reports that highlight the investment characteristics and trends in
individual industries, regions, companies, ownerships groups, etc.
Industry Analysis Service (CMIE): It provides an incisive analysis of

entire range of Indian industries, presenting detailed data on


demand and supply, prices, and financial performance. Similar
reports also available on ICRA Industry Reports
ETIG: This site is a product of the ET Intelligence Group (ETIG), the

research arm of The Economic Times. This site aims to provide


economic and business research on India.

Economy Databases
CRISIL Research: One of the most reliable sources of information, it has

information, analysis, and forecasts on Indian economic and business


environment. It also has regular updates on the present and future
performance of several industries.
India Trade: India Trade packages India's official foreign trade statistics and

a host of related data, analysis, and reports in an interactive system.
