as the heat-trapping property

Greenhouse Gases

They are responsible for the

trapping of heat.
Water vapor and carbon dioxide
are the main greenhouse gases.
CFCs and methane also add to the

Climate Change
It is a long term change in
the Earths climate, or of a
region on Earth.
It refers to general shifts
in
climate,
including
temperature,
precipitation, winds, and
other factors.
Factors are suns output,

Global
Warming

What is it?

Slowly, the ability of the

earths
atmosphere
to
absorb
heat
from
the
surface has increased and,
with it, the temperature of
the atmosphere. This is
known as global warming.
It refers to a rise of a
temperature of the surface

Who
discovered
it?

Wallace Smith
Broecker
He was a scientist at Columbias Lamont-Doherty
Earth Observatory as well as a Professor at the
Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at
Columbia University. One of his area of research was
on chemical oceanography and therefore he explored
various possibilities and theories on the relationship
between climate change, polar ice and ocean
sediments.
On August 8th, 1975, he published a paper in the
Science magazine. The paper was titled Are we on
