1. New user plane processing board specifications: Each board supports 300
cells, 3000 Erl, Iub DL+UL 256 Mbit/s PS traffic, and 6 Mbit/s MBMS traffic.
2. Supports mixed configuration of new and old user plane processing boards

TC Pool
PS HO (R7)
1. 2G/3G load information sharing; 2. NACC optimization; 3. Service distribution based on 2G/3G load
information sharing; 4. Load balancing based on 2G/3F load information sharing; 5. Power amplification
shutdown based on 2G/3G load information sharing
Supports sharing remote TCs among BSCs to satisfy relocation requirements with relatively low risk. Up to 16
BSCs can share 1 TC.
Supports intra-BSC, inter-BSC, and inter-RAT PS HO, including NACC and NC2 procedures.
Group handover reduces service interruption from grouped service crossing cells.
Supports early TBF establishment. UEs can establish TBFs in advance, which reduces service access delay,
for instance, of the first ping packet.
(R7)
The network side requires adaptive changes, namely saving the context.
EGRPS MS Receive
Supports EGRPS single antenna interference cancellation for dual-antenna MSs, which can increase
Diversity (MSRD) (R7
reception by approximately 4 db and raise network capacity.
Introduces two improved ACK/NACK reporting methods to reduce delay and increase timeliness compared to
EGPRS Fast ACK/NACK
existing ACK/NACK reporting:
Report (R7)
1) Event-based RLC ACK or NACK reporting; 2) Piggybacking ACK or NACK messages in reverse-direction
UL or DL data
EGPRS RTT Reduction (R7) Combines two timeslots within the time domain while maintaining the 4-burst structure. Each timeslot uses a
10 ms TTI radio block, and the original 4-burst data is transmitted in two contiguous TDMA frames, thereby
reducing TTI.
DL Dualcarrier R7
DL Dualcarrier
HUGE
Supports HUGE
RED (R7)
Supports REDHOT
Supports WB-AMR/GMSC, including 12.65, 8.85, and 6.60 encoding modes.
GMSK WB-AMR
A interface IP
A interface supports the GERAN standard; A interface supports IP transmission redundancy functions
standardization
IP-based BSC disaster
Supports pools of multiple BSCs. If a BSC fault occurs, managed BTSs can access a different BSC.

1.The above steps apply to mode evolution by resetting BSC to carry out data
adjustment. Other mode evolution scenarios (for example, GU to UMTS) may
use online configuration to complete data adjustment. In that case, "Load
scripts offline" changes to "Load scripts online" and "Reset BSC" is removed.
2. See the BSC6900 Multi-Mode Evolution Guide in the BSC6900 Deployment
Guide for specific steps in carrying out various mode evolution scenarios.

Optical interface boards: POUc (IP), POUc (TDM); electrical interface boards: PEUa
Note:
1. Only the Abis interface supports HDLC transmission mode.
2. If the TC is configured externally (TDM is applied over Ater), the BM subrack must be

BSC6900 OM Changes
WEB LMT Reduced Single-Point Maintenance
The position of LMT in Huaweis OM system is local and remote single point device
maintenance solution for installation and emergencies. This is consistent with industry
and, because of the reorganization of WCDMA, UMTS is already deployed based on this
position. LMT is still the primary maintenance tool of GSM, and its maintenance functions
are concentrated in the LMT. The new implementation considers both innovation and
preservation of existing functions. LMT GUI configuration functions are removed and
maintenance functions are moved to MML. Web LMT preserves the majority of LMT's GUI
maintenance functions, however. These include common tasks that are difficult to execute
in MML.
CMEImproved Centralized Maintenance
CME is the primary configuration solution (M2000/LMT performs configuration only by
MML commands). For GSM, radio configuration changes to complete network-level
configuration. For UMTS, independent PC server deployment changes to M2000 unified
server deployment. The database in the integrated CME is changed from SQL Server to
Oracle, while the standalone system uses the Sybase database.
Compared to GSM LMT, the CME adds the following features: multiple concurrent users,
multiple-BSC network configuration, efficient batch processing of large data quantities,
three-area configuration (plan area, current area, and fallback area), a northbound
solution, and a single 2G/3G experience.
