Friction

Investigation
Aim:

To investigate how friction affects

the speed.

Friction
1) What is friction?

Friction is a force which slows down a moving object.

It opposes the motion.

2) Give 3 examples where it is annoying

Friction Investigation
You need to plan how you will be carrying out this investigation.
You need to write a hypothesis predicting what you expect to
happen.
Carry out the investigation showing how the surface of the
ramps affect the speed.
You will need to write down calculations showing all your
working out when calculating the speed.
Take account of the different variables.
Draw a graph to show how the force of friction affects the
speed.
Write an evaluation of what your investigation showed and
conclude stating whether your initial hypothesis was correct.

Off you go!
