C O S TU M ES

P rim rose H ill Scene

Initially we came up with:
Male figure:

Knitwear (light coloured so white, cream, burgundy beanies, scarf)

Black coat

Navy blue jeans

Big boots (Preferbly Timberlands because they are an iconic brand amongst our young target audience and
we have taken into mind Maslows hierarchy of needs the aspiration part of the theory as our audience will
connect with the character and feel as though they have similarities)

Female Protagonist

Straight, light make up

Beanie, scarf preferably light neutral colours to represent the female artist as angelic and to reflect how calm
and happy she is with her boyfriend which later contrasts with the darker dress sense which shows her ulter
ego once her and her boyfriend have broken up.

Light skinny jeans

Plain jumper covered by a warm jacket or cardigan and hoop earrings to reflect the more urban style which
are audience can relate to.

Warm boots

FINAL DECISION
We decided for the Primrose Hill we wanted to shoot the scene twice with our characters wearing
different outfits. This is because we want to create two different types of personas.
The first shot we will take will consist of :
THE FEMALE PROTAGONIST
Big curly hair
A leather jacket
A baggy grey top
Hoop earrings
Black knee-high boots
Black hand bag
Moderate dark make up.

THE MALE FIGURE

Bright coloured hat
Denim Jacket
Jumper
Chinos/ Black Jeans
Trainers

With this look my group and I want to create an

urban girl look because the majority of our audience
are from urban areas such as London and New York
and this look would really appeal to them because of
the current fashion trend. It is also perceived as
female Street Wear with the iconic hoop earrings
seen on many R&B female artists such as Beyonc,
Mary.J Blige, Alicia Keys and more.

These colours make the female look even

darker and fierce and it makes the male
figure look innocent
and bright. The
opposite colours compliment each other.
Oversized denim jackets show a casual
touch to the character and it is also trendy.
You see many R&B artists wear oversized
denim jackets such as Chris Brown

The second shot we will take will consist of :

THE FEMALE PROTAGONIST
Baby pink faux fur collar jacket
Cream blouse with embroidery
Light blue denim jeans
Black boots or Timberlands
Cream or light blue side bag
Hair will be wavey
Light make-up

THE MALE FIGURE

Bright coloured hat
Dark Coat
Jumper
Black /Blue Jeans
Shoes/Trainers

As this will be a flashback scene we want to

achieve a contrast with the flash back compared to
the rest of the music video (which will be dark) as the
colours the main artist will be wearing will create a
sweet, airy, romantic feel and it will bring up the
mood compared to when we cut to the bedroom
scene where it is dark and our artist is dressed in
dark clothes through out the rest of the video. The
first thirty seconds is the only opportunity our
audience will get to see our main artist as some one
in love and happy.

This is the opposite to the other shot, again

complimenting the difference between the
two. However the dark coat would make our
character seem a bit more mysterious and
serious which is often shown to be more
manly.

Bedroom Scene
Female Protagonist

Initially we came up with:

Pajamas

Slippers

Vest

Hair Up

We thought it would be a good idea as it would be a typical bedroom scene and something that
didn't look very staged.

However we decided that it will be appropriate if our artist wore something very simple and
casual to show that she is about to leave the house. She will wear a plain black top with plain
jeans, her hair will be straight and she will be wearing a heart necklace and a heart ring that her
ex gave her. We wanted to dress our artist in the most simplest form because she is in a
bedroom which links to the idea of voyeurism and being in her own personal space so the
audience can see her at her most vulnerable.

W estm inster Bridge

Female Protagonist

Dark Coat
Scarf
Jeans
Slightly wavy hair
Heavier makeup compared to Primrose Scene

Club Scene
Female Protagonist

Big Hair
Dark glamorous make up
Two Outfit Possibilities:

-Black leather jeans and a sequin top

-Glamorous midi bodycon dress
Heels
This is just to follow the convention of typical

clothes our audience would expect a famous artist

to wear as well as it is a type of outfit seen being
worn to night clubs most of the time.
