Locus Of Two Dimensions

 A locus is a set of points that satisfy

a given condition.

 It is also the path of a moving object

that satisfy a given condition.
Locus In Two Dimensional

 Locus of a points that are constant distance from a

fixed point.
Example :
Sketch a locus of point X that is always (constant) 3 cm from
O.
Locus of X

O 3 cm
Locus In Two Dimensional

 Locus of a point that are equidistant from two fixed

points.
Example :
Two points X and Y are 6 cm apart. Construct the locus of
point P equidistance from X and Y.

Locus of P

X 6 cm Y

Locus P is the perpendicular bisector of line XY

Locus In Two Dimensional

 Locus of points that are at a constant distance from a

straight line.
Example :
Construct a locus of point T that is 2 cm from PQ.

Locus of T

Locus In Two Dimensional

 Locus of points that are equidistant from two intersecting

lines.
Example :
Two lines AB and CD intersect at point O. construct the locus
of point T such that it is always equidistant from AB and CD.
