Hollidays

You may think that just because you know

the legends of Dracula
everything else doesnt really matter. Well its not really like that
One of the most popular legends is the first of March legend,
when we offer each other a cord made of red and white cords,
usually
with spring symbols like ladybugs, and
flowers that
represent the transition from a cold and bad winter to a new and
full of life spring.
The Romanian legend says that one time Dochia, an old lady(evil), had
a step-daughter tortured with hard work. Dochia send her daughter in
the middle of winter to wash a black cloth until she made it white, but
the more she washed it the darker it became, until a man(Spring in
person) saw her, and offered a red and white flower which magically
made the cloth white. When she got back, Dochia thought that spring
came and went with her sheep on the Ceahlau mountain. The weather
was so hot, she removed her sheepskin coats one by one. When she
remained without nothing, the weather got colder and colder to the
point when Dochia and her sheep became stones that can still be
seen by this day.
People make the cords representing the fight between good and bad,
between winter and spring.

Even if you didnt believe me when I said that

Dracula isnt a vampire, you might will, because
excepting the fact that the Prince of Wallachia,
Vlad Tepes was the son of Vlad the Devil (Dracul
in
Romanian because he was a member of the
Order of
the Dragon, an order which protected
Christians from
the Ottoman Invasion) they are neither bad
men nor
supernatural creatures; actually Vlad
Tepes was one of
the straightest leaders of his
times.
It was said that at the rivers, travelers drank
water with golden cups that werent stolen
because robbers were severely punished by
impaling.
Because he impaled every evil-doer, Vlad was said to be a blood
thirsted Prince.
From here the Irish writer Bram Stoker was inspired to write the
book Dracula, taking him as a vampire and thus making Romania
the house of vampires.

DANCE

Dancing with means life, health and a good mood.

Romania is a unique European country as its folklore still exists in its
natural environment, but this is now vanishing with the spread of
western culture and modern technology.
Any dance is a combination of elements: formation, regional
style, motifs, musical rhythm, choreography and the social occasion.
Organized performances by village folk dance groups within
Romania can be traced back to the mid nineteenth century or even
earlier.
