WORKSHOP LAYOUT PLAN

ENTRANCE OF THE ROOM

The Door of the workshop is not of suitable width
and is narrow for the machines to enter
The wooden door is not properly cleaned and is
chipping from the edges.
The door is touching the ground and the hinges
are damaged causing the door to scratch the floor.
The area around the door is dirty and metal chips
lying all over.
The grinding machine is placed just next to the
door causing grinding dust to flow out of the
workshop.

ROOM AREA
The exhaust fan is mounted on the window.
The workshop has a metal frame over which
fans are hanging making noise.
The tube lights hanging on the metal frame
overhead do not have any casing/cover.
Wiring harness is lying all over the metal
frame overhead.
Telephone wiring openly hanged on nails in
the room walls.

BENCH VICE AREA

The bench vices are not properly
cleaned.
It consists of loosely mounted
material gripping tools.
The wooden vices have damaged
edges which may cause cuts and
bruises to the person passing by.
The vices consists of lots of metal
and wood chips lying over them.

SOLAR BATTERY ROOM

The fire extinguisher is hanging on
the wooden bifurcation wall.
The acid containers are kept close to
batteries.
The gravity meter not present in
some of the batteries.
No exhaust fan available in the
battery room.
The battery room is very crampy and
does not have enough space for

ELECTRICAL PANEL ROOM

Door alignment of the room is not proper.

The fire extinguisher gas has low pressure.
No proper foundation for the panel.
Wire harness lying on the floor without
trenches.
The cable tray fixed on the floor with wires
and not at a proper height.
Loose wires from the panel lying without
proper insulation.

Tools & Tackle Storage

Tools are not properly arranged.

Tools are contaminated by rusting.
The handle of the chisels are broken.
There is a bend in the angle measuring
device.
Handle of the wooden hammer is also broken.
The chip cleaning brushes are worned out.
No proper housekeeping of tools in the shelfs.

Measuring Table
The height and width of the
measuring table is very less and
cannot be used for drafting.
The table is centrally located in the
room causing obstruction in the
passage.
The legs of the table are shaking and
have a play in their balance.
The measuring table is lying very
close to the grinding machine.

Drilling And Milling

Machine
No proper separation distance between both
the machines.
Machines are not properly cleaned.
The tool is not removed from the drilling
machine.
The on/off switch of the machine is damaged.
The emergency start/stop button is not
working and is having a free play.
The machine surface is greasy due to cooling
water and metal chips lying on it.

Lathe Machine
The machine surface is not properly cleaned
and is greasy.
The metal chips are not cleaned frm the
machine surface.
The wiring harness to the machine is lying
over the floor from the wall.
The lathe machine and milling machine are
very closely placed.
There is no foundation made for the lathe
machine.

Welding Rooms
The welding rooms are very small.
The electric panel in the Arc welding room is
not covered and the lid is broken.
The pressure regulators of gas welding
cylinder is broken.
The hose pipe of gas welding is old and
there are risks of leakage due to cuts over it.
Absence of fire extinguisher in the room
makes it a risky and unsafe operation.
