ODI is a set of structured activities where


organization engage with a task or a sequence of
tasks pertaining to attainment of goals, directly or
indirectly.

Management Development Programs are the


training methods for enhancing organizational
performance through experiential learning.
The Management Development Program modules
cover important knowledge and skills required by
effective managers. Each module is highly
interactive and include hands-on activities such as
short cases, group exercises, and role plays.
PURPOSE:
It provides considerable intellectual stimulation.
It acquires acquaintance with new concepts and
new developments in the area of managerial
techniques.

Methods of MDT
On the Job- employees learn through observing
peers and learn by trying to imitate their
behaviour.
Off the Job- the manager learns outside the job
and involves himself in full time learning.

Example 1:Behaviour
modeling
This method combines role play with modeling. It
involves the following steps:
1. Model study : Participants watch film or video of model
persons behaving effectively in problem situation
2. Reinforcement: Trainers positively reinforce the participants
by providing feedback about a trainee performance.
3. Skill Transfer: Participants transfer the new skills on the job

Example 2: Business
Organization Retreat (BOD)
Corporate retreats help to solidify a management team
or board of directors and enhance its effectiveness by
giving members time to get to know each other and to
do long range or strategic planning for the organization.
The value of corporate retreats is that they remove the
team from outside distractions for a sufficient length of
time to contemplate strategic and governance issues
