Philosophy

An oasis designed for the comfort and

relaxation of people.

Architectural Concept

The hand is the

most reliable tool
for massaging and
spa therapies. Thus
using the hand as
an inspiration for
the space outline of
the resort.

The palm is the part

that holds the fingers.
Using the palm as the
place where the spa
building will be. The
fingers will serve as
the other
establishments that
surrounds it.

Using the

Architectural Concept

the best inspiration
in making a tropical
inspired structure.

Sturdy enough to
endure the weather

Provides shading

Does not obstruct

the wind

The leaf of the

coconut tree is the
key for its successful
sunlight control in
term of shading.

Using the geometric outline

of it, the pointed oval-like
shape will be used to
represent the dominant
shape of the structure of
the resort.
Featuring the same shading
power and ventilation a
coconut tree has

Structural Concept

Using the two distinct architectural styles in the

Philippines, the art deco and the vernacular. Combining
the strength of the reinforced concrete of the art deco
and the reliable ventilation of vernacular will result to a
better structure well suited for the theme of the resort.

The end product will be a modern vernacular structures

that will have the same sturdy feel of the concrete and
the sustainability of the natural materials.

Utility Concept
Lighting

Light shelf will be used to minimize energy

consumption through lighting.

Light shelf will use the sunlight itself to

bounce off to the ceiling of the room to help
the lighting inside.

Skylight will also be considered in some

areas of the resort to provide better
lighting.
This can be also open in some areas to
provide ventilation and exit for warm air
during the summer.

Utility Concept
Fire Protection

Since the guest houses/rooms will

feature thatched roofs. Fire
prevention will be prioritize.

Also to minimize the damage, the

roof will not be pure thatched, but
will be mixed will tile roof style.

The structure will be in concrete

instead of wood to reduce the risk of
fire.
The reinforced concrete will be used
in every structure within the resort
to reduce the risk of fire also to
provide strength.

Utility Concept
Mechanical

The machine that pumps the

water in the pool will be
powered from the mech. Room
that will be detached and not
under the pool or by it. This will
result to better access to the
machine room for ease of
maintenance or inspection.

The machine for these water

spa is very crucial that it is well
checked in order to be open
almost everyday.

Utility Concept
Electrical

Solar Panels will be utilized to save energy.

These solar panels will by available for each

guest house/room to help save in the overall
energy consumption of the unit.

Natural ventilation will be featured in the resort

to reduce the use of AC.
This will save major amount of energy and will
promote sustainability within the resort.
