Q4 Who would be the

audience for your

media product?
Chirag

Introduction
In this question I will be focusing on what particular social groups we have
targeted from the use of our characters which we have included in our film
opening.
I will be focusing on how protagonist and the two antagonists.
I will be focusing on various points within representation for each character, and
they are:
1. Class
2. Gender
3. Ethnicity
4. Age
5. Regional Identity
6. Sexuality
7. Disability

Protagonist Class
Throughout the film opening our protagonist
is known towards working class. This is
because working class people are known to
stereotypically wear jeans, plaid shirts, tshirts, hoodies and trainers. So from our
protagonists, class is recognized through the
types of clothes he is wearing.

Antagonists - Class
Throughout our film opening the antagonists
are not seen much and appear after a minute.
The antagonists are more related towards
middle/working class, as they are working for
the government, CIA which is classed as a
good job. They also wear suits, meaning that
there jobs is required to come smart and
formal and in suits.

Protagonist - Gender
Our film opening only used males, this is
because the genre we chose was related
more towards males. Our protagonists is
seen as lonely at the start of he opening
which also foreshadows from the
voiceover, however stereotypically saying
that males are known to be more
independent and lone heros

Antagonists - Gender
The antagonists again are two males who are
also seen in our opening. Stereotypically
saying that the two antagonists are strong in
terms of stamina although one falls behind,
and as well as saying that males dont need
to rely on others so this is why we have
shown one of the antagonist slow down before
the fight takes place

Protagonist Ethnicity
Our protagonist is Asian however is British
born, and this could be seen through his
clothing and accent, when the voice over is
heard. This represents that his background his
mainly white as he is seen running a lot
requiring stamina and fighting off one of the
antagonist

Antagonists Ethnicity
Same as our protagonist our antagonists are
also Asian yet British born. This is not shown
as there is no dialogue of the two, but the way
they dress and there superiority shows that
they are from a background known to be
confident and strong. This shown as they are
looking for our protagonist.

Protagonist - Age
For age our protagonists portrays our young
audience aged between 15-19, this is because
of the clothes he is wearing, casual. They
clothes he is wearing is seen by the young
generation and university students as they
like to be comfortable is jeans, plaid shirts,
and trainers.

Antagonists Age
Our antagonist would focuses on age but
more towards the older side of our target
audience, which is 20-25. this is because they
are seen wearing formal, office clothing and
our audience aged between 20-25 would may
be working. So therefore the antagonists are
related towards the older age of our target
audience

Protagonist Regional
Identity
Our protagonist would be more towards the
rural side. I say this because in our film
opening he is seen as lonely, feeling isolated
and out of touch with the modern world, so
stereotypically this would connote that our
protagonist is from the rural area.

Antagonists - Regional
Identity
For our antagonists, I would say they are more
towards the south as they have professional
jobs, working for the government, as well as
being snobs, referring back to their
superiority.

Protagonist Sexuality
The protagonist in our film opening would be
heterosexual, this is because of the way he is
dressed, not overly dressed for himself and
not showing signs of being attracted towards
the same gender buy stereotypically saying,
wearing skinny jeans or bright coloured tops

Antagonists Sexuality
For our antagonist they would also be
heterosexual, again no wearing tight clothes,
or vibrant colours, as well as there beaviour
being more manly like signifying there
confidence as males

Protagonist Disability
The protagonist does not have any disballity
as he is an able bodied person who is able to
perform daily task as getting up. He is also
seen running, jumping over rails, fighting.
This shows that he is perfectly normal and is
an abled bodied person

Antagonists Disability
Same thing would apply for our antagonists,
being normal, able bodied, again performing
task such as running, fighting, walking
