BENEFITS OF DATA DRILLING

1. Optimization of drill plan

Less holes required
Savings in explosives

Control of fragmentation
Optimal size for crushing
Less need for breaking

Fewer limitations on drill plan design

Hole angles included in drill plan
Free positioning of holes in face
Innovative drill plans can be used

Data collection allows better analysis of drilling

BENEFITS OF DATA DRILLING

2. Higher accuracy of drilling

Better tunnel profile
Less over-break, savings in concrete
Less over-break, less broken rock to remove
Less under-break, no need to re-drill
Smoother contour,less reinforcement

Longer pull
Accurate drilling depth
Smoother face, easier to drill next round

BENEFITS OF DATA DRILLING

3. Human factor reduced, all rounds drilled same way

Less variations (best driller always on duty)
Predictable process
Easier to analyze and improve

4. Eliminate processes - marking of face

5. Drilling of curved tunnels very simple

Accurate drilling has a positive effect

on charging, blasting, mucking,
scaling and rock support

DRILLING CONTROL SYSTEM

KEY FEATURES
Rock detect
Drifter moved forward with controlled speed and low power until solid rock
contact
Accurate alignment of holes and less stress on drill steel

Collaring automatics
After rock detect, collaring proceeds with collaring pressures to set
collaring depth
Then power ramped to normal drilling pressures

Adjustable feed controlled percussion

Optimized feed force to meet all percussion levels

Sensitive anti-jamming automatics

Safe and fast drilling even in poorest rock conditions

3 OPERATION MODES 1/3

AUTOMATIC OPERATION
Continuous Mode
System moves boom and drills all holes according to drill plan

Hole Mode
System moves boom and drills one hole then stops to wait permission to
continue

Step mode
System carries out one drilling phase and stops to wait permission to
continue

Override feature
If joystick activated during boom movement, mode of currently selected
boom changed to manipulator mode. Automatic return to auto mode when
joystick released
