Third Conditional

The third conditional (also called conditional type 3) is a structure

used for talking about unreal situations in the past. This will explain
how the third conditional is formed, and when to use it.

Example:
If Ihad wonthe lottery, Iwould have boughta house
El tercer condicional (tambien llamado condicional del tipo 3) es una
estructura usada para hablar sobre situaciones ireales o ficticias en el
pasado. Este explica como se forma el tercer condicional y cuando se
usa.

What Is It Good For?

Para que sirve?

We use the conditional ones to indicate a condition and a result and therefore
it consists of two phrases, the principal one and the one that indicates the
condition.

This type of phrases are in use for speaking of situations that have not
happened really, that is to say, to speak about hypothesis.

Utilizamos las condicionales para indicaruna condicin y un resultadoy por

lo tanto consiste endos frases, la principal y la que indica la condicin.

Este tipo de frases se utilizan para hablar de situaciones que no han ocurrido
realmente, es decir, para hablar de hiptesis.

Afirmative

The third conditional is formed with the simple past tense in the ' if- clause' and the auxiliary in the
'main clause.
[IF... + PAST PERFECT] + [AUXILIARY HAVE + PARTICIPIO]
EXAMPLE
Auxiliary: Would
If I had won the lottery, I would have bought a house
Auxiliary : Could
If I had won the lottery, I could have bought a house

AFIRMATIVA: Las tercera condicional se forma con el pasado simple en la 'if-clause' y con el would en la
'main clause'.

[IF... +PAST PERFECT]+[WOULD HAVE+ PARTICIPIO]

Auxiliar:Would
Sihubiese ganadola lotera, mehabra compradouna casa.
Auxiliar:Could
Sihubiese ganadola lotera, mepodra haber compradouna casa.

Negative

To make a negative conditional sentences simply refuse . Remember

that the two may be denied or only one of them
If I hadn't won the lottery, I wouldnt have bought a house.

Interrogative

The third conditional usually appear in questions, as this we can assume

What would you have done if you had won the lottery?
I would have bought a house.

NEGATIVA:Para hacer una condicional negativasimplemente negamos las

frases. Recuerda que pueden estar las dos negadas o slo una de ellas.
Sino hubiese ganadola lotera,nomehabra compradouna casa.

INTERROGATIVA: La tercera condicional suele aparecer enpreguntas, ya que

con ello podemos preguntar por supuestos imaginarios.
