Source B: A
poster seen in
the streets of
Germany in the
early 1930s.
The caption
reads Our last
hope Hitler.

Why was Source B

produced?

Source B was produced to show that the Great

Depression was a dire situation for many Germans.
This is because the source shows the Germans looking
gloomy.
Source B was also produced to show that Hitler was the
only man who was able to help Germany get stronger.
This is because the caption says Our last hope Hitler.
Source B was thus produced to convince (ReAction
word) the Germans (TA) that Hitler was the only
man capable of helping Germany (message) so
that the Germans would vote for Hitlers party in
the next election. (ReAction from TA) This was at a
time when Germany was suffering from the effects of
the Great Depression. Many Germans lost their jobs
and were looking for a strong alternative to lead them
out of the dire situation. (SITUATION)

Source C A poster showing Stalin

overlooking an electric power dam with
electric towers. The caption reads: Long
live Stalin, the great architect of
Communism!

Why did the Soviet

government produce this
poster?

The Soviet government produced this poster to

show that Stalins policies were beneficial as they
had helped the USSR to become modernized. This
is because the poster shows Stalin overlooking an
electric power dam with electric towers.
Thus, the Soviet government produced this poster
to convince the Soviet people that Stalins policies
were beneficial to the country so that they would
continue to support his policies wholeheartedly.
This is at a time when many of the people were
experiencing a fall in standard of living and a lack
of consumer goods due to Stalins rapid
industrialization policy.
