Elements supporting discontinuous systems shall
be designed for special seismic load combinations
From Model-2 analysis get story shears in all
floors above the discontinuous elements.
Increase story shears (1.8 times) and apply in
all floor diaphragms supported by
discontinuous elements.
Create special seismic load combinations.
Analyze the Model-3.
Design the surrounding elements supporting
discontinuous system (ex- floating column) up
to the foundation level for Model-1, Model-2
and Model-3 critical load combination forces
and moments.
