Word Formation
Many words combine with ful if you want to describe
something that possesses that quality (useful, tasteful),
or less if you want to describe something that lacks
that quality (useless, tasteless). Although many words
can combine with both ful and less, there are some
that only fit with one or the other (delightful, stressful,
wonderful, endless, homeless, relentles)
The suffix ish is in between. It means that it possesses
a little bit of the quality.
