History
As Bank of Calcutta, on 2nd June, 1806. First
Joint Stock banking of British India
sponsored by the Government of Bengal.
On January 27 1921, Bank of Madras, Bank
of Bombay and Bank of Calcutta were
renamed as the Imperial Bank of India.
Although was created only with the intent
of serving the needs of Local European
Commerce, they later shaped with the
developments in Europe and England.

The Turning Point


Paper Currency Act of 1861.
Right of note issue abolished. The sole
power of issuing paper currency vested with
the British Indian government and the task
of management and circulation of currency
was conferred with the Presidency Banks.
As the government assured the free use of
government treasury balances, They
embarked on branch expansion at a rapid
pace.

Inferences
If the same graphs were observed over a
lengthier period of time and concept of
Stability was considered,
Dhanlakshmi Bank, having steep peaks
and lows, they could be considered
Instable and will not be preferred for
Long time investment. On the other
hand, for a person who invested in SBI, we
could say that the probability of failure
is low.

The concept of Volatility is of use
only for Investments over a shorter
period of time.
If the HDFC stock prices are
considered, One could say that it is
more volatile than that of the SBI. For
shorter period Investments, one
would be more interested on a stock
that changes very much with time
(i.e) More volatile.
