ENHANCING TEACHING

OF FUTURE CONTINUOUS
TENSE THROUGH INFOGAP ACTIVITY IN A YEAR
5 CLASS

i. Context of Study
Problem the class did not enjoy my way of
teaching grammar; bored with the worksheet
that I gave
Preferred teaching using grammar isolation
method
I chose info gap activity as my intervention
The school is located in Seremban town
The research was carried out with Year 5 pupils

ii. Theories and literature review


Larse-Freeman (2000) stated that CLT aims to apply
the theoretical perspective of Communicative Approach
by making communicative competence the goal of
language teaching.

Relied heavily on the use of worksheets
Intervention
Info-gap or Information gap is where two speakers have
different bits of information, and they can only complete
the whole pictures by sharing that information because
they have different information, there is a gap
between them. (Jeremy Harmer, 2007, p. 129)

tense through info gap activity?

The pupils were

analysed

viii. Findings

Pupils enjoyed the info-gap


activity
data from questionnaire revealed
that 100% of my 34 participants
liked the activity
