MEANING OF HEALTH

and sound. The dictionary meaning
of health is the state of being hale
and sound in body, mind or soul,
especially free from physical disease
or pain.
To be in health means normal
functioning of all parts of the human
organism.

appropriately summed up by J.F
Williams, "Health is that quality of
life that enables an individual to live
most and serve best. Health can be
achieved, maintained and improved
by supplying the basic physical,
mental, emotional and social needs

A mentally healthy person is free
from internal conflicts, feels
comfortable and secure about
him.
They are at peace with others
and are able to feel that they
are the part of the group and
gets along with the group.

SOCIAL DIMENSION

Social health is concerned


with helping an individual in
making personal adjustment,
group
adjustment
and
adjustment as a member of
the society.

SPIRITUAL DIMENSION

Through spiritual health the


individual reaches out and
strives for meaning and
purpose in life. Sound
spiritual aspect result in
developing man into a
healthy human being.

living. We practice this art in

sound mind. It enables people
to acquire and practice the
knowledge of various principles
of hygiene in their day to day

become very fast. There is lack of
leisure timework has become
monotonous. So there is a need to
give a proper place to programmes
of physical education in the
educational set up because such a
programme can go a long way in
solving these problems.
