LITERATURE REVIEW
Amity Business School
M. Bijvank (2014)
From this study it can be concluded that service
level of any process is a thing of practical
implementation which mostly differs from the
literature.
In this study author shows the periodic review of
inventory systems with service level restrictions.
Study also proposed for a new one-dimensional
search procedure that is bounded to set the reorder
level and order-up-to level , whereas the solution
space is unbounded and two dimensional.

Amity Business School

C.Jaggi , H.Ali and N.Arneja(2009)

This study reveals the benefits associated with
reduction of lead time in periodic inventory
model under the service level constraints
where backorder rate is dependent on
backorder discount and the length of the
protection interval.
If the lead time is large then the amount of
shortage is also large whereas only few
customers can wait for the order fulfillment.

Amity Business School

M.Min , Q.Bing-Bing QIU(2012)

In this study author considering the difficulty
of measuring shortage cost, Author proposed
distribution-free continuous review inventory
model in the presence of a service level
constraint.
The proposed model guarantees that the
service level constraint can be satisfied at the
worst case and takes ordering quantity, safety,
length of lead time and setup cost as decision
variables.

Amity Business School

T. Hill(2010)
Author developed the new interactive kiosk
with a touch-sensitive screen that provides
onsite access for faculty and students to "testdrive," evaluate and purchase any of the more
than 200 educational software programs in the
Higher Education Library for the Macintosh.

This article addressed an approach to integrate spatial
features of books into a book recommendation system
which could be deployed in a brick-and-mortar
bookstore.
An experiment addressed various ways to visualize
recommendations computed by a system.
Results from that experiment indicate that spatial
information actually might help the customers of a
bookstore to plan their shopping trip.

MARKET RESEARCH FOR KIOSK

RETAIL FORMAT
Pustakkosh can enter into the kiosk retail
format. There is an opportunity for the
Pustakkosh to start up in campus kiosk as in
current scenario there are very less number of
institute which have the in campus book store.
Students are going outside the campus for the
purchase of the book.
With the renting model Pustakkosh will be
able to penetrate deep in the market.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Amity Business School
FEASIBITY STUDY OF CENTRALIZED INVENTORY SYSTEM

Proper inventory management software is needed to be

prepared and keep on evolving the software time to
time.
Disrupt the existing decentralized model of inventory
management.
Use RFID tag system for tagging the book.
Inventory can also be linked to the website to show the
real time inventory to the customer.
Maintain the bulk buying to reduce the overhead cost of
centralized inventory.
Training of the staff with the proposed inventory
system is necessary.

Amity Business School

MARKET RESEARCH FOR KIOSK RETAIL

FORMAT
There is a scope in the market but need to take
care that self service technology is not always
preferred by the customer. So along with SST
Pustakkosh employee should be employed.
College/university
should
be
selected
according to the number of student base.
Kiosk can also be used for advertising.
