processes.
Spinning Sheeps Wool; From Fiber to Fabric

.In this program students will have the personal experience of

spinning sheeps wool into yarn after learning about the history of
wool raising in Vermont. The work and life style of Donna Wilson, a
Frog Hollow Fiber Artist and Sheep farmer, will be highlighted in order

process of making art or clothing from a fiber resource which we
raise here in our state. The introduction to sheep raising in Vermont
will give students a sense of how such crafts are linked to Vermonts
unique history regarding wool production. The exploration of the
work of a Vermont artisan will help to open students minds to the
possibilities with in the fiber arts. Hands on learning of the craft
spinning will help students gain an appreciation of the skills involved
in producing wool objects by hand.

the process of printing with special attention on
printing presses and hand printing. Students will
learn about the development of printing and the
first printing press in America, which is now in
Vermont. They will explore how printing is used
today. The work of a contemporary Vermont
printmaker, Carol MacDonald will be introduced

Lake Champlain as a source for finding and
understanding how clay is formed. In doing this
students will learn about the Abenaki Indians of
Vermont as well as being introduced to the
pinch method of making sculpture.

Not all kids' games are created equal. Only

the Leap Frog Learning Library draws from

our proprietary scope and sequence of
more than 2,600 skills, informed by the
latest research and Common Core State
Standards, among other studies. Go
beyond math drills to spark creativity and
logic, foster a love of reading and social
understanding, inspire scientific thinking
and much more.

Leap Frog games adapt to each player's

level, personalizing the curriculum to the

child's age or grade, then adjusting
automatically based on their answers. And
unlike in other app libraries, curricular
progress is remembered from game to
game* to keep kids learning and having
fun.

Not all games and apps offer the right

feedback and support. We build hints or

tutorials into every Leap Frog game to
teach children the concepts they need to
progress. Answer feedback ensures
children have plenty of opportunity to
learn, while levels that build on one
another advance the learning.

We don't just entertain; we teach, delight

and inspire. We design our games from the

ground up to create the best possible
experience for children. By involving kid
testers in every detailfrom characters
and gameplay, to levels and challenges
we ensure children will have fun learning
and come back to each game again and
again.
