Why Choose
In the UK anybody
can call themselves a
Apollo?

medic. Over the years we have heard

many a medic describe themselves as
Paramedics, almost Paramedics or as
good as Paramedics. It is in fact a crime to
impersonate a Paramedic or wear
identification claiming to be one which is
why many unscrupulous companys
identify their staff as medics.
The term Paramedic is a protected title,
you can not call yourself a Paramedic
unless your registered with the Health
Care Professions Council who regulate and
ensure set standards are met. This is in
much the same way as Nurses and
Doctors are registered with the NMC and
GMC respectively.
Please check that your Paramedic is
registered:

Most medics or technicians only hold a
first aid at work certificate or hold either
in house, military or foreign qualifications
which are not transferable to the UK
market. Paramedics have extended skills
and qualifications with one such example
being that Paramedics are licensed
(misuse of drugs act) to carry, possess
and use at their discretion
pharmaceuticals such as morphine or
diazemuls to treat pain or head injures.
Medics and alike cannot do this and would
face probable prosecution.
Please be sure that if either the HSE or
your governing body say you require
Paramedics, that your getting one. As
