CHRISTIANITY

Christianity
is the world's biggest religion, with about
2.1 billion followers worldwide. It is based
on the teachings of Jesus Christ who lived
in the Holy Land 2,000 years ago.
The early Hebrews who eventually
developed into the Jewish religion became
the foundation of Christianity.

Christianity
Jesus, or the Messiah, was a Jewish man who
disagreed with some of the Jewish principles of
his day. He began to profess a new way of
thinking.
This eventually led to the beginning of the
Christian religion.
Christianity started about 2000 years ago about
the same time of Jesus.

Christianity
The central point of Christian belief is that God,
the Father, entered into human history, the son
Jesus Christ of Nazereth who sufferred and died
as a ransom for many but eventually He arose
through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Christian Philosophy
There is one God, who is three divined and
distinct persons:
Father- Creator
Son- Savior
Holy Spirit- Sanctifier

Jesus is both fully man and fully God. He

was born of the Virgin Mary. Crucified,
resurrected from the dead, and ascended to
the Father.

Christian Philosophy
All believers are promised life everlasting if they
believe in Jesus Christ the one sent by God.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have everlasting life" - John 3:16

Commandments of Jesus
"The Greatest Commandment"
" 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law
and the Prophets hang on these two commandments," (Matt 22:36-40,
Amp).

"The Golden Rule"

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,
for this sums up the Law and the Prophets," ((Matt 7:12 NIV).

The Commandments of Jesus

From the Four Gospels

"When you stand praying, forgive"

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so
that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." But if you do not forgive, neither will
your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins." (Mark 11:25-26 NIV)

"Love Your Enemies"

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I
tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons
of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends
rain on the righteous and the unrighteous," (Matt 5:43-45 NIV).

"This, then, is how you should pray"

"This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your
name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our
daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive
you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins," (Matt
6:9-15 NIV).

The Commandments of Jesus

From the Four Gospels

Get rid of whatever causes you to sin"

"If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is
better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be
thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw
it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole
body to go into hell." (Matt 5:29-30 NIV)

"Do not Judge"

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you
judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be
measured to you," (Matt 7:1-2 NIV).

"Guard what is Sacred"

"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If
you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you
to pieces," (Matt 7:6 NIV).

How Did Jesus Christ Die?

Jesus Christ died because He was crusified on the cross at Calvary.
The religious leaders were crucifying Jesus for blasphemy -- for
claiming to be God. They put him to death for it.

Why Did Jesus Christ Die?

Jesus Christ died on the cross at calvary for us to be saved from our
sins. Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven
and go to be with the Lord. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1, 14, Col.
2:9), and only God can satisfy the Law requirements of a perfect life
and perfect sacrifice that cleanses us of our sins.
