Rights and Duties.

Man is a social animal. Human
nature has two aspects, one is
personal and other is related to
his social life.
Right
Duties

Personal life.
Social life.

Essentials of rights.

Right is claim, desire or power of a person

to act, possess or achieve something.
It is recognize by the society or state.
Rights have tendency to grow and change
with the passage of time and change in
conditions of social life and progress.
Every right has a corresponding duty.
It should serve the moral end of the state
like general welfare and common good of all
men.

DUTIES
Duty is an obligation to do
or not to do something for
the sake of other.

associations within its territory and

Islam termed the following things as

the Fundamental rights of citizen
which are correspondingly the duties
of state.
these are
Food, Clothes, Shelter, Health,
Education, Self respect, Nikah.
These things are for every one with
out any difference.

AL QURAN

(60:9) .
Zakah is only for the poor and the needy, and
for those who are amils over it, and for those
whose hearts are to be reconciled [to the
truth], and for the emancipation of the slaves
and for those who have been inflicted with
losses and for the way of Allah and for the
welfare of the wayfarers. This is an obligation
decreed by the Almighty, the All-Knowing and
the Wise. (9:60)

Seerat-e-Nabvi and Seerat-eSahaba

Hadith:
Pay the laborer before his sweat dries
off

Hazrat Umer said:

Umer is answerable for the death of
dog at the bank of Neel due to hunger.

An Islamic state is responsible for all

the basic necessities of its citizens
keeping in view their Spiritual and
Materialistic needs.
State claims its rights when it
performs its duties.
During draught and famine, Hazrat
Umer relaxed the punishments
related to robbery and theft

Example of Gardener who cares for all the Plants such that
no single plant dies. If any plant tries to grow out of its
allowable range or it is harmful for other plants, he cuts it.
