Introduction
Solar power is the conversion of
sunlight into electricity, either directly
using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly
using concentrated solar power
(CSP). Concentrated solar power
systems use lenses or mirrors and
tracking systems to focus a large
area of sunlight into a small beam.
Photovoltaics convert light into an
electric current using the photovoltaic
effect.

Photovoltaics were initially solely

used as a source of electricity for
small
and
medium-sized
applications, from the calculator
powered by a single solar cell to
remote homes powered by an offgrid rooftop PV system. As the cost of
solar electricity has fallen, the
number of grid-connected solar PV
systems has grown into the millions
and utility-scale solar power stations
with hundreds of megawatts are
being built. Solar PV is rapidly
becoming an inexpensive, lowcarbon
technology
to
harness
renewable energy from the Sun.

Types of solar power plant

There are mainly two
types of solar power plants
used today..
(1) Photovoltaic solar power
plant
(2)Thermal solar power plant

Photovoltaic solar power plant

This is the appropriate substitute for
the usual electrical energy which is
used in houses for powering electrical
appliances. Photovoltaic cells will
capture the energy which is generated
from the sun and get it converted into
electricity. The process of energy
conversion is clean and simple and it
does not involve injecting any kind of
smoke or harmful chemicals into the
atmosphere. A lot of companies have
decided to have grids containing
photovoltaic cells installed on their
premises so that they can derive the
maximum amount of energy from
them
and
also
reduce
their
dependence on the traditional forms of
electrical energy.

Thermal solar power plant..

A solar thermal energy plant will be
used for creating solar generated
heaters which can be used for heating
water and also as an indoor heating
system. Thermal cells will be used to
capture the energy which has been
generated by the sun and then
convert it into heat energy.
It is also possible to make use of this
energy for cooking purposes and also
for drying clothes. Low temperatures
can be used for heating water as well
as swimming pools. Medium heat is
used for heating up the inside of
homes as well as office buildings. High
temperatures will help in generating
the electricity which is needed for
everyday uses in homes and offices.

ADVANTAGES
Clean and most abundantly
found in nature
Pollution free
Renewable sources
Low maintenance
Easy installation
It can be use in remote
locations
Long life

DISADVANTAGES
Initial cost is high
Location and availability of
sun shine
In photovoltaic pollution
may be occur
Inefficiency
Reliability
Installation area

SOLAR ENERGY POWER

IN INDIA IN FUTURE
India is slowly gaining its
prominence
in
the
generation of solar power
due to the comprehensive
and ambitious state and the
centres solar policies and
projects and national solar
mission. Some mega power
plants in Gujarat, Tamil
Nadu, Rajasthan and ladakh
has
been
proposed.
Considering all these facts, it
has a great scopes for us.

CONCLUSION
As we know there is great crisis of
energy produce from fossil fuels and it
leads to its emptiness.
These fossil fuels creates hazardous
problems on the entire environment.
This leads to some global problems
such as green house gases , global,
air pollution, water pollution, soil
degration etc
So a clean and eco friendly alternate
way for energy is required on the
entire globe. Solar energy is the best
way of finding all the required energy
of the entire nation . That's why it is
used in some places and is under
process for better outputs.
A 10 mega watt solar power plant
requires an area of about 75000 sq
meters . In order to achieve a capacity
of 10 megawatt a total of 44000 solar
modules are installed in the German
state and will produced enough clean
