of it. Darn it.
Phrasal level of processing (phrase for phrase)
Target Language:
I have been struggling with it. I doubt that Ill solve it. Just
forget it.
Sentential level of processing (idea by idea)

Since theres nothing I can do, I might as well forget about it.
Translation as a process
The translator Valentn Yebra deals with the
theory of translation from a linguistic point
of view, so you see that process as the
replacement of units of a code by another.
Part of the idea of translation theory has to
be focused on linguistics, because the
translation is exercised on written texts,
with as set of signs that the translator must
understand in the source language and
reexpress it in the target language.
Example
Source text:
He said, I am the voice of one crying in
the wilderness, make straight the way of
the Lord, as said the prophet Isaiah. (John
1:23)
Target Text:
Dijo: Yo soy la voz de uno que clama en
el desierto: enderezad el camino del
Seor, como dijo el profeta. (Juan1:23)
Example
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the
wilderness (source text)
El dijo, yo soy la voz de uno llorando en el
desierto. (decodification)
Crying in this case means to shout loudly
and not to produce tears (Source text
comprehention)
Dijo: yo soy la voz de uno que clama en el
desierto (redecodification and target
the text expression)
