Islam

About Islam:
Islam is derived from Arabic root Salima
peace, purity, submission and obedient.

In the religious sense, Islam means submission to the will


of God and obedience to His law.
Source of Islam :
Primary : Al-Quran
Secondary : Hadith
Tertiary : Ijtihad, ijmak, qiyas, syura
& etc.

Festival in Islam:
Eid ul Fitr (1 Shawwal)
-Celebrating at end of fasting, thanking Allah
for the help and strength that he gave them
throughout the previous month (ramadhan) to
help them practice self-control.

Eid ul Adha (10 Dhul-Hijja)


-The festival remembers the prophet Ibrahims

willingness to sacrifice his son (Ismail) when


God ordered him to.
-During the festival Muslims who can afford to,
sacrifice domestic animals, usually sheep, as a
symbol of Ibraham's sacrifice.

Buddha

About Buddha:
The word Buddha comes from 'budhi',
'to awaken'.

It has its origins about 2,500 years ago when Siddhartha


Gotama, known as the Buddha, was himself awakened
(enlightened) at the age of 35.
Buddhist path can be summed up as:

(1) to lead a moral life,


(2) to be mindful and aware of thoughts and actions,
(3) to develop wisdom and understanding.

1) not to take the life of anything living


2) not to take anything not freely given
3) abstain from sexual misconduct and sensual overindulgence
4) refrain from untrue speech (lie)
5) avoid intoxication, that is, losing mindfulness.

beliefs such as the cycle of birth and rebirth the universality
of Brahman.
