1) For construction of girls hostel, the budget provides


Rs 112 crore, which is approximately double than
that of previous year's provision, Rs 25 crores for
construction of protective walls for the girls' hostels.
All the girls hostels in the state to get protective
walls in next three years.

2) Rs 1,690 crores for Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) for


2015-16

3) Study centres along with reference books to be


established at each district headquarters.

4) The medical colleges at Pune, Aurangabad, Akola,


Ambajogai, Beed, Solapur, Nanded, Miraj, Sangli,
Dhule, Yavatmal, Latur and Nagpur to be upgraded to

1. Objectives
The objective of this Scheme is to encourage skill development for

youth by providing monetary rewards for successful completion of


approved training programs. Specifically, the Scheme aims to:
Encourage standardization in the certification process and initiate a

process of creating a registry of skills


Increase productivity of the existing workforce and align the training

and certification to the needs of the country.


Provide Monetary Awards for Skill Certification to boost employability

and productivity of youth by incentivizing them for skill trainings


Reward candidates undergoing skill training by authorized institutions

at an average monetary reward of Rs. 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand)


per candidate.
Benefit 10 lakh youth at an approximate total cost of Rs. 1,000 Crores.

To reduce the burden of unemployment among

the youth from Scheduled Caste, VimuktaJati,


Nomadic Tribes and Special Backward Class
community, Government of Maharashtra
introduced the scheme named MAGEL TYALA
VYAVSAY PRASHIKSHAN from July 2003.
Under this Scheme, the unemployed candidate

from above mentioned categories are given


training in various Employment and Self Employment oriented Short-Term courses
without the burden of training fees on them.

Important Features

1. No Training Fees
2. Stipend Rs. 100/- per month to every candidate.
3. Enterpreneurship Training.
4. Toolkits worth Rs. 1000/- distributed to all
candidates free of cost.

Objectives
1. To provide Vocational Training to School

Leavers, Existing Workers, ITI graduates etc.,


to improve their employability by optimally
utilizing the infrastructure available in Govt.,
private institutions and the Industry. Existing
skills of the persons can also be tested and
certified under this scheme.
2. To build capacity in the area of
development of competency standards,
course curricula, learning material and
assessment standards in the country.

Objectives

The objectives of the revised Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana


(SJSRY) are:
Addressing urban poverty alleviation through gainful employment
to the urban unemployed or underemployed poor by encouraging
them to set up self-employment ventures (individual or group),
with support for their sustainability; or undertake wage
employment;
Supporting skill development and training programmes to enable
the urban poor have access to employment opportunities opened
up by the market or undertake self-employment; and
Empowering the community to tackle the issues of urban poverty
through suitable self- managed community structures like
Neighbourhood Groups (NHGs), Neighbourhood Committees (NHC),
Community Development Society (CDS), etc

Coverage :
The target population under SJSRY is the urban

poor those living below the poverty line, as


defined by the Planning Commission from time to
time.
Components :
SJSRY will have five major components, namely-

(i). Urban Self Employment Programme (USEP)


(ii). Urban Women Self-help Programme (UWSP)
(iii). Skill Training for Employment Promotion
amongst Urban Poor (STEP-UP)
(iv). Urban Wage Employment Programme (UWEP)
(v). Urban Community Development Network
(UCDN
