Composition of Seminal Fluid

The seminal fluid is created by secretions from the male reproductive
organs. The 100-500 million spermatozoa (sperm) will move through the
ejaculatory ducts to mix with fluid from the prostate, seminal vesicles
and bulbourethral glands, forming semen.
The contributions and components of semen are:-

Reproduction Process
1. The seminal fluid, comprising of a mixture of four different liquids, travels from the male
urinary tract to the female reproductive system.
2. Only one spermatozoa will fertilise an egg in the fallopian tube.
3. Once the egg enters into the egg, the fertilised egg goes into lock down i.e. the single
spermatozoa inside the egg cannot escape and no new spermatozoa can enter.
4. Over two weeks, the fertilised egg becomes a clot.
5. Thereafter, the clot travels down the fallopian tube and implants itself to the wall of the
uterus. This is referred to as implantation. The levels of a pregnancy hormone (Human
Chorionic Gonadotropin - HCG) increases which indicates that implantation has occurred
through a urine or blood test.
6. Both men and woman have 23 pairs of chromosomes in each cell.
7. Twenty two of these chromosome pairs (autosomes) are identical in both men and women.
8. The twenty third pair, the sex chromosome (gonosomes), is an XX for women and an XY for
men, thus men decide the gender of the child.
15

Development of the Embryo to Foetus

Life in the uterus has three stages:Pre-embryonic stage; (first two and a half weeks - when cells are dividing and settling
themselves into the uterus)
Embryonic stage; (up to the end of the eighth week - when the settled cells become the basic
organs and systems of the baby's body)
Fetal stage; (from the eighth week to the birth - when the foetus begins to resemble a human
until it is born)
The foetus is enveloped in three main layers:1.Outer Wall - Anterior abdominal wall (which contains the external oblique, the internal
oblique, and the transverse abdominus muscles)
2.Middle Wall - Uterine wall (which contains the epimetrium, the myometrium, and the
endometrium)
3.Inner Wall - amniochorionic membrane (which contains the amnion (the innermost layer),
the allantois (the middle layer) and the chorion (the outermost layer))

16

Creation of Man

Verily, We created man from a drop of mingled sperm (nutfahtin

amchaj)
Quran Insan (Man) 76:2

17

Creation of Man and Reproduction

12. And [We] created man from an extract of clay (tiyn).
13. Moreover We placed him as a drop (nutfah) in a safe lodging.
14. Then We created the drop (nutfah) into a clinging clot (alaqah), and
created the clinging clot (alaqah) into a lump of chewed flesh
(mudrat), and created the chewed flesh (mudrat) into bones ('idham)
and clothed the bones ('idham) with intact flesh (lahm); then We
developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allaah, the best of
creators.
15. Then indeed, after that you are to die.
16. Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected.

96:2
18

Development of the Embryo to Foetus

He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one

after another, in three veils of darkness. such is Allaah, your
Lord and Cherisher: to Him belongs (all) dominion. There is
no deity but He: then how are ye turned away?
Quran 39:6
19

Creation of Man
O mankind! Reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single
person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like
seeds) countless men and women; reverence Allaah, through whom ye demand
your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for Allaah ever
watches over you.
Quran 4:1
[God] is the One who fashioned a man from water and established relationship
of lineage [by men] and kinship by women.
Quran 25:54
That He did create in pairs, male and female,
From a sperm (nutfah) drop when it is emitted.
Quran 53:45-46
