Survey and data methodology


Name of survey: Enterprise IT Services Survey, North America and Europe, Q2 2008
Survey sample size: 947 North American and European decision-makers responsible for the
purchase of third-party IT services
The purpose of this study was to analyze adoption trends in IT services for enterprises in North
America and Europe. Forrester surveyed 947 IT services decision-makers at North American and
European enterprises. Of these, 654 were from North American enterprises, and 293 were from
European enterprises. Out of all respondents, 38% were from companies with 1,000 to 4,999
employees, 35% were from companies with 5,000 to 19,999 employees, and the remaining 27%
were from companies with 20,000 or more employees. Out of all respondents, 75% are considered
an "Executive." All respondents were screened for significant involvement in IT services decisionmaking, as well as IT purchasing processes and authorization .
