Water pollution is a major global problem
which requires ongoing evaluation and
revision of water resource policy at all levels.

Rapid development of urbanization has come at a
price of increased water pollution, with 47% of all
surveyed water bodies in the country having good
water quality, 40% having only fair water quality, and
13% having poor water quality. Around 50 of the 421
rivers in the Philippines are now considered to be
biologically dead, supplying sufficient oxygen for
only the most hardy species to survive there.

INTRODUCTION
Sewage
treatment is
the
process
of
removing contaminants from wastewater, primarily
from household sewage. It includes physical,
chemical, and biological processes to remove these
contaminants and produce environmentally safe
treated wastewater.

INTRODUCTION
Sewage treatment plants neutralize and deactivate the
chemicals found in the sewage water. They work by
relying on the bacteria that is found in our colons,
which eat away the nitrates, phosphates and organic
matter that is found in sewage.

BACKGROUND OF THE
STUDY

Some parts of the Laoag City had been prone to

flooding due to canal and sewer clogs. The clogs
cause maybe sometimes because of garbages not
being dumped properly or not systemized sewage
system. So as a student of Divine Word College of
Laoag, I came up of putting a sewage treatment plant
inside the city to help reduce water pollution and
uplift cleanliness.

STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM
The proposed project should accommodate facilities
needed by the people of Brgy.55-B Salet to enjoy
their every moment of the said proposal.
Specially, this intends to answer the following
questions:
1. How possible the road drainage will be rehabilitated
along the area?
2. What is the estimated cost of the project?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The importance of the study is to keep the area being
studied clean and free from pollution. This is also
important to avoid floods and stagnant waters.

GOAL AND OBJECTIVES

This study aims to produce clean and toxic-free
water as well to avoid water pollution in Laoag City.
To design and estimate the total expenses of the
project.

Specially, this intends to answer the following
questions.
1. How efficient the sewer treatment plant to be
installed at Laoag City?
2. What process of treatment is going to be use for the
sewage system?

SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS

OF THE STUDY
This study only limits at the said barangay.
The water that will be going to the sewage system are
the liquids only coming from the drainage system of
the barangay and rainwater.
