a name for all the wrong reasons as the crime rate there also increases.
Alcoholism, among all age groups, is on the rise and it's taking a toll on the
state's 33 million-strong population.
In fact, Kerala has the highest per capita consumption of liquor in the country.
Kerala gets through 8.3 litres (15 pints) of alcoholic drinks per person per
year,.
A 2011 report by one of Indias largest trade bodies found that Kerala
accounted for 16% of national alcohol sales, the largest proportion of any
state.

the people about the ill
effects of alcoholism and
substance abuse on the
individual, the family and
society at large.
CULTURAL IMPACT
According to a survey
conducted by the United
Nations Drug Control
Programme (UNDCP)
addiction is high among
both school and college
students. Drug use can be
accounted for as a trend
towards modernization.
De-addiction centre are
needed to act as a
preventive strategy for
early diagnosis and
treatment for drug and
alcoholic addiction which
inflicts damage in the
minds and souls of youth
who consume it & which
breaks families and
societies in the process
causing irreparable
damage to our culture.

THERAPEUTIC ARCHITECTURE
Architectural design is one of the most
significant to study how a space is
utilized both in practical terms &
landscape wise, to uplift the spirit and
provide the necessary environment in
which community daily life and activities
can be most effective.
Color, they way people are able to
move within the building, staircases,
connections between rooms,
surrounding nature all play a role in
underpinning the mood of the residents.
AIM
Therapeutic community design- group environment in which
the addicts and professionals interact in a setting promotting
trust and individuals are encouraged to become a part of the
community wiith the goal of rebuilding their social skills.
This controlled but institutionalized environment helps in the
faster psychological healing process.
OBJECTIVE
To design a space that will change the users outlook on life
and experience that will restore them back to a higher quality of
life.
To design a space which provides therapeutic value that
contributes to the healing process of the addict.
To design a space where there is balance between sense of
freedom and disciplinary control.
LIMITATIONS
Therapeutic architecture includes various subjects of health
care facilities design.

INTRODUCTION
Pravasi Gramam is a project initiated by Government of Kerala in recognition
of the rich and invaluable contributions of the Non Resident Keralites (NRKs)
in the economic and social development of the State.
KSIDC has been appointed as the nodal organisation to develop and
implement this project.
This project aims at providing the NRKs and their succeeding generations
with a channel to maintain cultural and social linkages with Kerala and is
envisaged as a self-contained and well laid village representing a replica of
Kerala in terms of its culture, traditions, art forms, lifestyle, etc along with
facilities and infrastructure most sought after by the NRK community.

INTRODUCTION-PROJECT BRIEF
International trade fair complex and convention centre
Project is proposed as a joint venture by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure
centre near Infopark Kochi, the proposed SmartCity Kochi and its own Kinfra
Export Promotion Industrial Park,situated in kakanad.
Proximity to the Kochi International Airport, Cochin Port, and the SeaportAirport Road has made Kakkanad ideal for the project.
Kinfra posses sufficient land for setting up of the project.
The project is proposed to be built upon 50 acres of land.
The trade fair complex will come up on 25 acres while hotels, and multiplexes
will be set up on the remaining land.
Kochi is the fast developing economic capital of kerala.
Excellent connectivity and business ambience of kochi make it a perfect
location for establishing a trade Centre.

The project will act as a permanent venue for international trade fairs to
happen in kochi.
This will uplift the social face of kochi as major trade center.
