DEFINITION OF MANAGEMENT
Based etimologically, Management comes from the old
French language mnagement , means art implement and
manage.
Management is the art work done through others . This
definition means that a manager responsible for managing
and directing others to achieve organizational goals . ( Mary
Parker Follett (18681933) )
Ricky W. Griffin defines management as a process of
planning , organizing, coordinating , and controlling
resources to achieve goals effectively and efficiently .
Effective means that the goal can be achieved in
accordance with the plan , while efficient means that the
task done correctly , organized , and in accordance with the
schedule.

WHY MANAGEMENT IS
NEEDED?
Because without the management of all
businesses will fail and the achievement of
goals will be more difficult .
There are three main reasons why
management is required :
1. To achieve the goal .
2. To maintain a balance between the goals of
conflicting
3. To achieve efficiency and effectiveness of
the organization's work .

MANAGEMENT AS A SCIENCE AND A ART

Science is a set of knowledge that

ACTIVITIES OF SUBORDINATES THROUGH
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

The steps according to the methods of science are :


1. Determine the proposition
