HISTORY OF NEW HOPE ACADEMY

After years of prayer and planning, New Hope Academy became incorporated
as an independent not-for-profit, non-denominational elementary school. That
fall of 1995 and spring of 1996 saw a flurry of activity: recruiting an
exceptional faculty and staff, developing a challenging academic program, and
initiating plans for long-term support of the school. The fall of 1996 marked
the first semester of New Hope Academy, with 33 students enrolled at
Fillinvest Compound, Antipolo City.
In March 1996, New Hope Academy has fall because of the less amount of
students had been enrolled therefore the authority of the school is given to Mr.
Dave Cerbito which is the father of our current Principal Mr. David Cerbito. In
November 2000, through the full effort and support NHA broke ground on a
33,000-square-foot building that would serve Pre-K through sixth grade with
sixteen classrooms, art and music rooms, a library, and an extended learning
lab. That service continues to this day. Its groundbreaking. Its inspired. Its
just the beginning. The epiphany came in the form of an eight-year-old boy,
Marquise. When asked what he wanted to do when he grew up, he responded,
Play football. What if you cant play football? Paige asked. Play
basketball, he replied. Suppose you cant play sports, she continued. What
do you want to do? He shrugged his shoulders. I guess Ill work at
McDonalds.
More than ever, the truth of Proverbs 29:18 rang clear: Where there is no
vision, the people perish. Convinced that education was the key to ending the
vicious cycle of poverty and resignation, Paige and her team of volunteers saw
new clarity in the focus of their mission.

Objectives
Topromote developmental interpersonal skills to build
positive relationships with peers, adults and
community around them.
To assist students in program choices consistent with
abilities and academic/career goals.
To assist students to identify their interests and
abilities through an interpretation of their
performance.
To assist students with the resolution of personal and
school related problems.
To maintain accurate and appropriate student records.

Mission
The New Hope prepares students to understand,
contribute to, and succeed in a rapidly changing
society, and thus make the world a better and
more just place. We will ensure that our students
develop both the skills a sound liberal arts
education provides and the competencies
essential for success and leadership in the
emerging creative economy. We will also lead in
generating practical and theoretical knowledge
that enables people to better understand our
world and improve conditions for local and global
communities.

Vision
We are and will be a university where design
and social research drive approaches to
studying issues of our time, such as
democracy, urbanization, technological
change, economic empowerment,
sustainability, migration, and globalization. We
will be the preeminent intellectual and creative
center for effective engagement in a world that
increasingly demands better-designed objects,
communication, systems, and organizations to
meet social needs.

Philosophy
New Hope Academy engages and
integrates every aspects aspect of the
child. our compassionate approach
encourages critical thinking and
development through hands-on
activities, interdisciplinary projects,
and thoughtful reading and writing
practice.

Goal
The school accepts children of all faiths, cultures,
and ethnic backgrounds. The school was founded
by parents concerned with the education of the
whole child intellectual creativity, character, etc.,
who felt that the public school approach
excluded any religious or spiritual dimension in
education. The school attempt to include prayer,
and moral focus in a way that it believes
conforms to universal expression of faith; the
school community says it regards these as an
important part of childrens development.

School Rules and Regulation

The school rules have been established
in partnership with the community over a
long period of time. They reflect the school
communitys expectations in terms of
acceptable standards of behaviour, dress
and personal presentation in the widest
sense. Students are expected to follow the
school rules at all times when on the school
grounds or when clearly associated with the
school i.e. when wearing school uniform.

Students have theresponsibility:

To attend school regularly
To respect the right of others to learn
To respect their peers and teachers regardless of
ethnicity, religion or gender
To respect the property and equipment of the school
and others
To carry out reasonable instructions to the best of their
ability
To conduct themselves in a courteous and appropriate
manner in school and in public
To keep the school environment and the local
community free from litter
To observe the uniform code of the school
To read all school notices and bring them to their
parents/guardians attention

Philosophy and Rationale of New Hope Academy
Comprehensive Developmental Guidance and Counseling
Program is based upon the following beliefs:
All children are unique and should be treated with respect and
dignity.
Every student can succeed.
Learning is a lifelong process.
Fostering a positive self-image is the collaborative effort of the
school, home, and community that leads to responsible and
productive citizenship.
The diverse needs of all students must be addressed at all
educational levels through the guidance and counseling program.
Every student needs appropriate personal and social skills to
achieve optimum benefits from the educational program. 3
A comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program
is not a support service but an integral part of the total education
