and would like Simon to come and spend
the day with her. Simon, an engineer,
had planned on using the day to
volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. By
volunteering, since he would be helping
a whole family for the rest of their lives,
rather than cheering up his mother for
simply one day.

A.) Should he ignore the request of

her mother and still went to the
village to volunteer?
B.) Or sacrifice the lives of the family
he was supposed to help and visit

works after school jobs, saves all her
money, rarely goes out, until she has

in South East Asia that has left
thousands dead, wounded and

George, who has just taken his PhD in

chemistry, finds it extremely difficult to get a
job. His wife has to go out to work to keep
them. He is offered a job in a laboratory
which does research into chemical and
biological weapons. George is strongly
opposed to the manufacture of chemical and
biological weapons.

If he does not take the job, his wife

and his children will suffer. And if he
does not take the job, it will be given
to someone else who will pursue the
research with fewer inhibitions.
Should he take the job?

A.) Should George accept the job?

because if he turned down the offer
someone else will still do the research
anyway.
B.) Or not because he is against on
biological warfare?

Jim finds himself in the central

square of a small South
American town while on a
botanical expedition. Tied up
against the wall are a row of 20
Indians who are arrested after
protesting against the
government and are about to be
killed as their punishment.

Jim as an honoured visitor from

another land, Pedro, the captain
in charge, was happy to offer
him a guests privilege of killing
one of the Indians himself. If Jim
accepts to kill one Indian then
the 19 Indians will be set free. If
Jim refuses then Pedro will spare
no one and kill everyone.

A.) Should Jim take the privilege

to kill one Indian to let the 19
Indians go?
B.) Or not because he is a
stranger to that town and not in
the proper manner to kill them?
