Rosary Proper

Introductory
Prayers
-Dr.CarlitoB.Olaer-

INTRODUCTORYPRAYER
Queen of the Holy Rosary, you came to
Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd
children the treasures of grace hidden in
the Rosary. Inspire our heart with a sincere
love of this devotion, in order that by
meditating on the Mysteries of our
Redemption which are recalled in it, We
may obtain peace for the world, the
conversion of sinners, and the favor which I
ask of you in this Rosary(Mention your
request). We ask it for the greater glory of
God, for your own honor, and for the good
of souls, especially for our own.
Amen

Apostles Creed
: I believe in God the Father
Almighty, Creator of heaven and
earth; and in Jesus Christ, His
only Son, our Lord; Who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered
under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, died and was buried.

He descended into hell. On the

third day He arose again; He
ascended into heaven,and
seated at the right hand of
God, the Father Almighty;
from there He shall come to
judge the living and the
dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the
body, and life everlasting.
Amen

THE LORDs PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name: Thy
kingdom come: Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread: and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us. And lead
us not into temptation: but deliver
us from evil. Amen.

HAIL MARY
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord
is with thee: blessed art thou
among women, and blessed is
the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray
for us sinners, now and at the
hour of our death.
Amen

GLORY BE
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son and to the
Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING
(GOSPEL OF LUKE)

He then left to make his way

as usual to the Mount of
Olives, with the disciples
following. When they
reached the place he said to
them, "Pray not to be put to
the test."

Then he withdrew from them, about a

stone's throw away, and knelt down and
prayed. "Father," he said "if you are
willing, take this cup away from me.
Nevertheless, let your will be done, not
mine." Then an angel appeared to him,
coming from heaven to give him strength.
In his anguish he prayed even more
earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground
like great drops of blood.

When he rose from prayer

he went to the disciples and
found them sleeping for
sheer grief. "Why are you
asleep?" he said to them,
"Get up and pray not to be
put to the test.

MEDITATION
Watch and pray. We gaze on you
Jesus in your loneliness and
anguish. We console you in your
grief at the thought of so many
souls who will reject salvation.
We hear you cry and we cry out
with you in our hearts,
"Father, not my will but yours be
done.

INTENTION
Eternal Father, through the infinite
merits of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus and the Immaculate Heart
of Mary, we beg of you the
conversion of poor sinners.
Mary, our Mother, may we always
find the strength to say yes to
the Father.

THELORDs PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name: Thy
kingdom come: Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread: and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us. And lead

us from evil. Amen.

HAIL MARY

GLORY BE
Glory be to the Father,

world without end.
Amen.

FATIMA PRAYER

our sins, save us from
the fires of hell, and
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those in most
need of Your Mercy.

THE SCOURGING AT THE

SCRIPTURE READING
(GOSPEL OF MARK)

So Pilate, anxious to
placate the crowd,
released Barabbas for
them and, having
ordered Jesus to be
scourged, handed him
over to be crucified.

MEDITATION
Mary groans at the lashes that tear
open the body of her Son. This
destruction was inflicted on Jesus
by our sin. The pure and innocent
Christ has been reduced to an
open sore from the soles of his
feet to the top of his head.
Thank you Jesus that your precious
blood cleanses us of all our
impurities, wrong thinking, bad
acts, undue attachments, and our
refusal to accept sacrifice and
suffering.

INTENTION
Eternal Father, by the merits of all
that your Son suffered in his
scourging, may we come to love
the Church, and her
commandments more and more.
Mary, our Mother, rid of us all that
is not of your Son. Clothe us with
Jesus, that we may go forward on
pilgrimage with you towards
heaven.

THELORDs PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name: Thy
kingdom come: Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread: and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us. And lead

SCRIPTURE READING
(GOSPEL OF MARK)
The soldiers led him away to the
inner part of the palace, that is,
the Praetorium, and called the
whole cohort together. They
dressed him up in purple, twisted
some thorns into a crown and put
it on him. And they began
saluting him, "Hail, king of the
Jews!"

They struck his head with a

reed and spat on him; and
they went down on their
knees to do him homage. And
when they had finished
making fun of him, they took
off the purple and dressed
him in his own clothes.

MEDITATION
You have said so I am a King,"
Jesus said to Pilate. But men do
not want this king. His royal robe
will be purple rags, his throne a
broken pillar, his scepter a reed in
his bound hands, and in mockery
he is crowned with thorns. Jesus,
we give our little souls for your
cloak, our penitent hearts for your
throne and the love of our Mother
Mary as for your scepter. May the
thorns of our pride be replaced by
our homage.

INTENTION
Eternal Father, by the merits of
all that your Son suffered in
his being crowned with
thorns, may all your children
return to you.
Mary, my Mother, give me your
humility so that Jesus can
reign in our hearts.

THE LORDs PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name: Thy
kingdom come: Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread: and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us. And lead

THE 4th Sorrowful

Mystery
THE CARRYING OF THE
CROSS
-Mr. -----------------------(REPRESENTATIVE OF DR. JESSICA F.TORRE)

(Scripture Reader)
-Dr.Cecilia C. Uncad(Prayer Leader)

SCRIPTURE READING
(GOSPEL OF LUKE)

But as one man they

howled, "Away with him!
Give us Barabbas!" (This
man had been thrown
into prison for causing a
riot in the city and for
murder.)

Pilate was anxious to set Jesus

free and addressed them again,
but they shouted back, "Crucify
him! Crucify him!" And for the
third time he spoke to them,
"Why? What harm has this man
done? I have found no case
against him that deserves death,
so I shall have him punished and
then let him go." But they kept
on shouting at the top of their
voices, demanding that he should
be crucified. And their shouts
were growing louder.

Pilate then gave his verdict: their
demand was to be granted. He
released the man they asked for,
who had been imprisoned for
rioting and murder, and handed
Jesus over to them to deal with
as they pleased.

As they were leading him away they

seized on a man, Simon from Cyrene,
who was coming in from the country,
and made him shoulder the cross and
carry it behind Jesus. Large numbers of
people followed him, and of women too,
who mourned and lamented for him. But
Jesus turned to them and said,
"Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep
for me; rather weep for yourselves and
for your children.

For the days will surely come when

people will say, "Happy are those
who are barren, the wombs that
have never borne, the breasts that
have never suckled!" Then they
will begin to say to the mountains,
"Fall on us!"; to the hills, "Cover
us!" For if men use the green wood
like this, what will happen when it
is dry?" Now with him they were
also leading out two other
criminals to be executed.

MEDITATION
Jesus has now been ranked among thieves.
Tortured and abused, weighed down by
his cross and flanked by two criminals, he
walks towards the place of the skull,
Golgotha. Whilst we so often shun our
responsibilities and refuse to suffer the
consequences of our actions, Jesus goes
on to the bitter end. He who gave Himself
to His Father saying "Here I am, I come to
do Your Will", now receives the cross and
lovingly embraces it.

On his way to Calvary he meets Mary His

Mother. She wishes to plead with us:
Can you not help my Son to carry His
Cross, which is so heavy, by accepting
your own, which is so small? Do you
not want to remember his words "If
any man wants to come after me, let
him deny himself, take up his cross
and follow me"? And if sometimes it
seems too heavy then believe with all
your strength that another Simon of
Cyrene will come to help you carry it.

INTENTION
Eternal Father, by the merits of all that
your Son suffered in carrying his cross,
may we daily carry our cross with his love
and his humility.
Jesus, I choose to deny myself in order to
help you, like Simon of Cyrene, carry your
cross.
Mary, my Mother, may I always decide for
God and for the Church, through the
merits of your Sorrowful and Immaculate
Heart.

THE LORDs PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name: Thy
kingdom come: Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread: and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us. And lead
us not into temptation: but deliver
us from evil. Amen.

HAIL MARY

When the soldiers had finished

crucifying Jesus they took his clothing
and divided it into four shares, one for
each soldier. His undergarment was
seamless, woven in one piece from neck
to hem; so they said to one another,
"Instead of tearing it, let's throw dice to
decide who is to have it." In this way
the words of scripture were fulfilled:
"They shared out my clothing among
them. They cast lots from my clothes."
This is exactly what the soldiers did.

Near the cross of Jesus stood his

mother and his mother's sister, Mary,
the wife of Cleopas, and Mary of
Magdala. Seeing his mother and the
disciple he loved standing near her,
Jesus said to his mother, "Woman,
this is your son." Then to the disciple
he said, "This is your mother." And
from that moment the disciple made
a place for her in his home

MEDITATION
Mary treasures her Sons words
from the Cross, "Woman
behold your Son", and she
became our Mother, accepting
us as her children - and to the
child, Jesus says "Behold your
Mother." Jesus, by our lives
may others come to see Mary
as their Mother.

INTENTION
Eternal Father, by the merits of
all that your Son suffered on
the Cross, may we always help
our suffering brothers by
being Jesus to them.
Mary, we turn to you my Mother,
and beg you to come home
with us as Jesus desires.

THE LORDs PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
