Internet is the global network of

microwave hookups and is
accessible in offices and homes.

NETWORK
Its a connection of computers that links the computer to

installation) and computer resources such as files, and
programs.

and sharing information. Through it, the hardware
performs its functions.

TYPES OF NETWORK

Local Area Network) it is a
connection of computers in limited distance. It
can be done in one room or building. It uses
cables or wires for communication.

connection of computers over
great distance. It uses high speed and
expensive communication network like satellite
to connect distant networks

URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

It is a way of specifying the address of files that are accessible in


the internet. Through this address, you can easily find someone,
something in a company or anything in the internet

Protocol://server.subdomain.top-level domain/directory/filename

COMPOSITION OF URL;
It is a set of rules on how to deal with the
files you are about to retrieve. The most
popular protocol is http. It is the protocol
used by the www to access files as web
pages file and images. All protocols except
mail to is followed by colon (:) and two
forward slashes (//)

Types of URL
ABSOLUTE It specifies the entire address of the
file similar to the home address
this type of URL is useful if you are connecting to a
server that doesnt use http protocol like ftp, gopher,
newsgroup and others.

Relative

This is useful when you are accessing a file within one location on
the server
