CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Gov. D. M. Camerino Elementary School

BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE


Based on the recent result in the
administration of Philippine Informal Reading
Inventory (Phil IRI) out of 1495 pupils from
Grades two to six, there are 250 non
readers.
Grade three has recorded the most number of
non readers with 124 pupils or 8% of the
total population of grades two six.

Background and Rationale


This situation will later
lead to a problem which
will affect the reading
comprehension of the
pupils, numeracy and
achievement rate of the
school.
The data shows the
importance and
correlation of reading in
every problems that arise
in the educational
system. It also made us
reflect and evaluate the
existing reading program
of the school.

Thus, the CI and project


team
come
up
in
launching project ANN
which
stands
for
Activate and Nurture
Non readers that
focuses on the 40% of
grade 3 pupils or 124
out 275 pupils.

ASSESS
1. Get Organized
The school form a Continuous
Improvement team to implement the
improvement process which compose the
following;
team leader, scribe, documenter and
the process observer.

2. Talk with customers


The CI Team conducted a survey and interview to teachers and
pupils. The team prepared a survey forms for pupils.
