TimberRite 30H kit can be delivered without a head (automation system upgrade
or start-up of excavator & old head)
Joensuu factory testing (for Euro heads) philosophy

deliverable kit is tested after assembly with non-deliverable HHM

deliverable head & HHM is tested with non-deliverable kit

New Zealand factory testing (for 600 series heads) philosophy

deliverable head is tested with the deliverable HHM & kit

Top saw mode stays active after a top saw cut

Improvement for reaction times when Head Open and Head Close functions are activated

General improvements for CAN messaging, unused messages removed. Prevents freezing
situations

Delimbing knives pressure follows the pressure curve settings also when feeding has stopped

Saw unjamming fixed, works now with the following principles with all the head types:
-

F2 + Main Saw + Feed Reverse

F2 + Top Saw + Feed Forward

Whats new in version 2.5.7 - Compared to version 2.5.6

Version 2.5.7 was released for field testing on late February 2008.

I/O list updated for 624C HHM diagnostics works now with all the possible functions.

Dont Count function fixed - Works now after a top saw cut too.

Door switch feature fixed Possibility to reconnect HHM after connection is restored

TMC related information removed on run mode screen

All the possible Euro heads supported with default files (HeadINIs, MAC & MAS from T300)

624C related bug fixed Main Saw Cylinder not working all the times after top saw cut.

Fix for the ways how the run mode stem counter is updated.

Updated 600 series MAC and MAS files

New features
-

Bottom Delimb control modified as requested

New options to be used with run mode stem counters

Tree specie specific diameter estimation factor for top saw

Test mode for base machine pumps Testing the activation and flow levels of the pumps

Version 2.5.7 Examples about Bug Fixes

Door Switch feature
-

Door Switch feature is used for a safety purposes as it restores the

connection to HHM when it is powered again after a safety shutdown.
Safety shutdown of HHMs could be done, for example, when door is
opened or safety leaver is activated. This depends on the local
configurations.

There was a change done in the HHM hardware what prevented the
reconnecting working as specified.

In version 2.5.7 HHMs reconnection works as specified.

-

Once the connection is restored, there will be a message on the runmode

where it is asked operator to accept HHMs reconnection.

Ben Loone could provide more detailed information about how the
Door Switch feature is used in Australia.

Version 2.5.7 New Features

Test mode for base machine pumps
-

There is a new feature available to test activation and flow levels of base machine
pumps.

The test mode could be opened by pressing F4 on page System Configuration Base
Machine.
Select the pump(s) to be
activated and a flow level.

Selecting Ok to test check

box activates the pumps with
the defined configuration.
Deactivation of the check box
terminates the activation.

Version 2.5.7 New Features

Tree specie specific diameter estimation factor for top saw diameter
-

Top saw diameter is always based on estimation about the diameter tapering from the
main saw position.

There is a new feature on page Sawing - General available to define the estimation factor
differently for each active tree specie.
Available tree species from APT file

Diameter estimation factor for a top

saw position.
The figure defines how much the
diameter tapering is estimated to
affect for diameter used at top saw
position.
Higher the value is, the stronger the
tapering.

Version 2.5.7 New Features

New options available for stem counting in runmode counters
-

There are three different options available to be used for stem counting principles with
runmode counters; two new principles and the existing.

Settings for the stem counting are located on the page System Configuration Display.

Version 2.5.7 New Features

New options available for stem counting in runmode counters continues
NEW OPTION: FellingCut
-

Option is used in felling applications when there is a need to get the stem counted
right after the fell cut.

Stem will be counted in a runmode counter when the following conditions are met:
-

Tilt Auto Raise Level is 1, 2 or 3.

The first main saw cut is made after head has been reset and it is in harvester
position.

No matter if there are logs made out of the stem at all, it will be counted anyway.

NEW OPTION: CrossCut

-

Stem will be counted whenever the following conditions are met:

-

Head has been reset by fell cut, reference cut or FindEnd.

After the reset, at least one log is made out of the stem, no matter if it is
registered or unregistered.

Version 2.5.7 New Features

New options available for stem counting in runmode counters continues
EXISTING OPTION: LogCut
-

This is the existings feature with the fixed functionality explained earlier in this
document.

Stem will be counted whenever the following conditions are met:

Head has been reset by fell cut, reference cut or FindEnd.

After the reset, at least one registered log is made out of the stem before the
head is opened.

NOTE! This is the only option of the runmode stem counting that will stay in sync with
the Site Overview pages information all the times as the stem counting principles are
the same.

Version 2.5.7 New Features

New options available for stem counting in runmode counters continues
IMPORTANT NOTE
-

It is important to inform customers that there will be always a conflict between Site
Overview page and runmodes stem counter information if the options FellingCut or
CrossCut are used for stem counting in counters.
-

As with these two new options stem counting is done very differently than for the
Overview pages summary.

The new stem counting principles, FellingCut and CrossCut, are only affecting when the
Total Number of Stems option is selected (in the picture below).

Version 2.5.7 New Features

Improvements for a Bottom Delimb control
-

The attached specification document describes the modifications which were done for
the Bottom Delimb Control in version 2.5.7.
